found a great deal on mobiles.co.uk for an iphone X with loads of data, on Voda (who im currently with) for a great price. Called Vodafone today for a PUK code, or to ask to transfer my number across to the new phone, and was passed from pillar to post for 30 minutes with no resolve. In fact, all the 3 advisors done was warn me off of using other websites as they could be 'dodgy' and to keep an eye on my account and details???

Does anyone know how i can use my current Vodafone number, on my new phone and tarriff deal (still on Vodafone)??

  • Ask for a PAC, transfer to a different network PAG, transfer back onto the new contract. The only "dodgy" is if it's a cashback contract and you don't know how to enforce it if needbe.

Asking for a PUK which has nothing to do with transferring a number probably confused them!

Ahhhhh, didnt think of that, i just remembered you need a PUK code to transfera number (but usually between different networks)

If I called them back and asked to transfer a number, they may understand? (They were beyond useless though..)

You don't, you need a PAC code. And you need to transfer to another network or provider, VF don't do internal transfers as far as I am aware, some other networks do.

mobiles.co.uk are operated by Dixons Carphone; wasn't it them who had issues with performing credit checks around Black Friday?
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Yes it was, and their problems were caused by Vodafone apparently.

Apparently, a number can be transferred internally at Vodafone - from PAYG to a contract.
