I replaced Love Film with Cinema Paradisio.

    Does what you want.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

But if he's actually at the international flood recovery conference which is meeting to discuss those floods, he might realise that every conversation is going to involve that subject.

This is the "Techie stuff" board on a site dedicated to saving money. If you're asking for advice on outdated technology that costs more money, and refusing to justify your reason for doing so, you're bound to have to put up with some attempts at persuasion!
But it's not outdated nor is it necessarily going to cost more money.

Wow, way to go too far. Well done you. *pat on head*

So long as those people who are refusing to stop pushing streaming my way are perfectly happy that i am going to skip their comments until i come across someone who's willing to discuss optical media (which by the way, the last time i walked in to my local HMV is still alive and well).

I don't know if you have large charity shops but here the option of charity shop vs cinemaparadiso would be say a choice of 10 vs a choice of 90000 or however many is on there. :) In other words you'd be pretty lucky to get what you want from a charity shop.

eBay may be worth a shout but then if you're buying it depends on how many as to which is cheaper.

I'm quite surprised your local charity shops generally have only 10 DVD's for sale at any one time. Not all sell them but the ones that do always seem to have at least one good sized bookshelf full of them which must be at least 400 of them and they seem to have enough stock coming in to keep this full.

It may not be as many as cinemaparadiso but it's still a good selection if your just looking for films to watch.

DVD's can be bought at car boot sales and in charity shops for 50p to £1. You will not get the latest DVD's, but you can get some very popular older films this way.
  • Don't discount eBay as DVDs tend to cost the same as rentals second hand at the moment - plus you can either keep them or sell them on. Streaming often costs more but for a pound extra I'm happy to be watching now than in a couple of days - I don't even have a DVD player now.

    Good for you.

Reading the recent news about HMV reminded me of your comment so i thought it would be good to reply to it ;)

I just found it ironic how you described it as alive and well during the exact period they said sales of physical media were too low to allow them to continue trading.

But i'm not sure why you seem so upset by comment; i'm not even saying you were wrong as you wouldn't have known at the time of posting it!.
