NW internet banking has been troublesome for me since they switched to the new security validation using the card reader.

The website was very very slow to load and took ages to swap pages.

After some investigation i found that this was becuase i was using Linux and firefox as a web browser,

I emailed them about it and they said that they didnt support linux !

They clearly dont understand the difference between an operating system and a web browser as they do support firefox apparently.

Anyway the slow throughput was caused because their server validates what OS and browser you use.

It didnt like mine so it ran very slowly.

I therefore had to add a plug in to firefox which cons their servers into thinking im using ms windows/IE and it now runs ok,

Do nationwide and others not realise that linux and firefox are now widely used? They even make a disclaimer that they will not provide the usual security guarantees.

Should i and many others take our accounts elsewhere or is the whole on line banking world technically ignorant as to what is an OS and what is a web browser?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Would you mind letting me know the name of the Firefox plug in, as I have the same problems running Firefox on a Linux system?

    Cheers.

Certainly..its a widget called User Agent Switcher which fools the server side into thinking your using MSIE on windows.
