Best way to get any money for old banger?
So I bought a new car, and the old 2005 Mondeo must retire. However I don't think I'll get much for it, paintwork's a bit knackered, and moreover there is bit of a rattle starting to happen which I'm told is the gradually deteriorating flywheel, indicating that at some stage the gearbox would need replacing - big job.
if it wasn't for that, the old tank it would have a fair bit of life in it (160,000 miles). I'm just wondering what the advice would be re: trying to get something back for it, even if not much. We Buy Any Car type outfits? Put it on Facebook/Ebay and just honestly list its faults? Sell it for scrap?
Advice appreciated.

Flog it locally. Local FB group, post office/supermarket notice board, that sort of outlet. Be honest. Somebody will want a cheap smoke for a few months - how much ticket does it have left?0

Flywheel will be the dual mass flywheel so a new clutch, not gearbox. Couple of hundred quid and a day's time for a DIY mechanic. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

+1 for eBay, card in newsagent window, local Facebook group with extensive description including faults. It’ll sell.
WBAC will take it but knock loads off for the damage so you’ll get a better deal selling privately.0 -
Drive it to a scrapyard, get a ton for it, Done and dusted, immediate, & no hassle.0

No cheap car selling facebook groups locally? Try those and free to list.0

Gumtree is very good too - and free"For every complicated problem, there is always a simple, wrong answer"0

Another ebay fan.
Sold my banger on ebay recently, apart from the hassle of the highest bidder being 400 miles away all went smoothly.
Plenty of pics and an honest description.0
