  • I've been with PN for 5 years. Just renewed for another 18 month deal.
Was paying £23.99 now paying £26.99 after ten minutes of haggling and being offered this and that upgrade which I don't want or need. I received an email last week to say the next DD would be £37.98p so phoned them pronto.

My package includes line rental, copper broadband (4.5 Mb/s) and inclusive anytime calls to UK landlines and mobiles up to one hour. The broadband is plenty fast enough for iPlayer without any buffering.

All depends what your needs are really. I've never had any issues with PN.

I’ve been with PN for a few months. I have phone, fibre broadband and BT TV. I moved from BT. The transfer happened without incident. I had a query about something on my last bill and it was resolved quickly using the chat. Happy customer.

I have been a PN customer for several years without problem. I switched to fibre in Nov and the service switched on the correct date and has been rock solid at above the guaranteed speed. That is the good bit.

The billing / account side has been horrendous since that switch. They keep apologising for failing to get the fibre working and give me a new date even though the service has been live for a month, they cannot get the agreed price right, they took a DD for triple the agreed amount, they could not get line rental saver applied, I had to open a new account in a futile effort to try and sort the billing problems, they refund money then take it back, they tell you one thing then do something completely different, they bounce your problem around different departments with no one taking responsibility and they fail to respond to your on line requests.
  • Recently changed to Plusnet and hugely regret it. Have had terrible internet connection with no usable internet for two weeks. The engineer came this morning and the router now need replacing. My service was then cut off as they said the direct debit hadn’t gone through! My bank says they never even claimed the money . How I regret going to this provider. My advice? Don’t!
  • I was with Plusnet for over 3 years & moved house with them twice. One the second occasion they couldn't provide faster broadband straight away & had two goes before they finally got this right. Their customer service was poor so I decided to switch away as soon as I could (I was tied in for 2 years) & it's been a nightmare. I started the process on 17 August & am still having problems with them. AFAICT they blocked me from moving to my new provider NowTV & left me with no service for more than 10 days. Although Plusnet finally agreed to remove charges for this period of time their billing department and customer service department are in dispute with each other over how this should be achieved & I am being pestered by their debt collection agency despite spending several hours on the phone trying to sort his out. Avoid.

I've been with Plusnet for about 9 years. Customer service used to be great but now very long waits on their phone line but at least they have a UK call centre. Luckily I've rarely needed to call them apart from haggling a new deal.

I've had about 3 line issues in my time with them, all related to the local exchange and promptly resolved by BT. The cost keeps me with them though as long as they keep giving me 18month retention deals. I have free evening and weekend calls for free (grandfathered in from an old deal), I pay my line rental up front and pay £3.75 per month for my 12Mbit BB after referrals. I have no need for fibre BB so Plusnet suits me great.
  • I generally alternate between Plusnet and Sky to get the best deals. I think these two are the best of a bad bunch.

Have been with Virgin for many years. The cost keeps going up. Thinking of changing to Plusnet.
Wondered what other people think of this companies service.

Where Plusnet scores is the price of Youview+ which comes with BT Sport 1 and the basic pack of extra channels and costs a mere £5 per month. But order it over the phone after you already have fibre broadband installed. They should waive the up-front costs if you take a new 24 month contract.

If you don't want TV there are better deals elsewhere: If you want inclusive unlimited landline calls NowTV at £23.50p per month or if you don't use the landline Vodafone at £20 per month, both for up to 38Mbps.

And now they have threatened the debt collectors for not being able to take the payment for the early termination bill they supposedly cancelled.
