On my way to a better place...

  • Most of the snow has gone now :j
I'm starting to wonder if I've done the right thing with self managing...arrgghhh, so many different ways of paying them - websites, telephone etc, it was easier with the one payment each month. I have asked for bank details but they don't give them. Maybe I won't pay until they do, force their hand as it were. Some have given me bank details though. I do enjoy having the control of my money so will put up with it.
My sister and I have decided to go walking in the evening, hoping it will help me sleep better and aid the weight loss. We'll start this as soon as the ice disappears from the pavements :D
Work was good today I got a lot done.
I have so much junk in my back garden that I need to hire a skip. It would take me too many journeys in my little car and it's all old dirty stuff, wooden bits etc. Will get that sorted during Feb.
  • So having had a slight wobble, I've decided that self managed is the way to go for me, after all, I've done the hard part by agreeing new terms for repayment with the creds.
So windy down here today and last night, it actually woke me up.
I will be spending this weekend going through wardrobes, getting ready for the car boot. My DD has so many things hanging in her wardrobe, that she just doesn't wear anymore and it's all in good condition, so I'm going to bag it all up nicely and put it in my car boot pile in the spare room. I did a good job of clearing the spare room a little while ago, and now I'm putting stuff back in there again.
Work going well at the moment - everyone seems to have settled down (hope I haven't spoke too soon).
Looking forward to Monday, going out with friends and on Thursday I'm off to the theatre with my sister.
Will be leaving work early today, well 4.30ish - got lots to do indoors. I will be doing the washing tonight so it's got a good change of drying out tonight/tomorrow on the airer - I don't like to put too much in my tumble dryer, mind you, I don't know what the weather is going to be like this weekend - I may be lucky and get it out on the line.
  • What a lovely first half of the day. Three lots of washing done and two dried on the line, one now on the airer drying in the kitchen.
118 have text to say they are considering selling my debt on. Please do is what I say.
I have brought myself some plastic folders, each one I've labelled with a creditor so I can keep everything safe and in the same place. I'm ready to start my SM DMP from next month. I can't say I've had much chance to put anything aside though, something always crops up. This month was MOT taking £300  I will just have to save as I go, little by little. I have also thought about getting a cleaning job or something just to bring some extra money in, but hopefully it won't come to this. I've done cleaning before and on top of a full time job it's a killer, especially with my back pain. I will do what I need to though just want this debt gone.

you sound super organised I'm sure you will be fine - it has a long hard slog, but you will get there for sure
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • Doesn't the sunshine make you feel good :)
I'm on a course today so no chance of finishing before 4.45 - never mind though, DD is going to do the shopping and I'll go and pick her up when I finish. OH is indoors putting the hoover round (or he'd better be). I can then just get some washing done and ready to hang out for the lovely weekend that is coming.
Glass of wine is going to be had tonight... it's been a long week at work - so many people, so many issues. It's incredible what people get het up about but it makes you realise that different things are important to different people and everyone has a right to have feelings about things. It's my job to then manage those feelings and coax them back to reality, or at least make them see that things aren't so bad. I need to prep for a big presentation next week, so will be working from home one day soon - I love doing that.
In money news, I wrote to Robinson Way to see what they would settle on for the two NewDay debts I have with them, still waiting on a response to that one. I can't settle but it doesn't hurt to see where they're at. Apart from that, all gearing up for next month and the launch of my DMP. I haven't got an EF by any means, but with what I'll be paying them, I should be able to budget a bit better and save a bit as I go. Driving lessons are looming for DD later this year .
My job for this weekend, if I'm not out walking, will be to sort through the spare room again. I am stock piling stuff for my first car boot sale of the year which will be early April. Can't wait for that - it's a lovely way to make some money - sitting in a field, talking to people.
About 6 hours to wine time... :j
