I read everyday but rarely post as I’m boring lol, but thought I would start posting. I live with my partner and wee dog pixie and we both work I’m a shop. My partner was made redundant earlier in the year from a supermarket but I got him a job where I work. We live in a seaside town in Northern Ireland
I’m off today so will be a day of housework and putting up the Christmas tree.0 -
Morning all,
Waiting for OH to come back from his walk, meeting cousin for coffee, have texted to say that I am running late.
Dumpling......hugs.
Sorry to hear that so many people are having problems sleeping.
Bit overcast this morning it's cold too, fire lighting in living room, so nice and cosy......DGD 7 is watching Peter Rabbit.....he is such a naughty little rabbit, she loves him!
Hugs to all, back later.

Morning all, thanks for the birthday wishes
Spent all day doing what seemed like endless eating, along with a full English this morning, weight watchers will love me in January...OHs birthday today, so not sure what's happening there...It's his turn to decide what happens.
Managed to hit the porch with the car this morning, don't know what happened, just reveresed too far and too fast, good job I won't be driving for a while. It's still intact, or looks it, suppose we'll find out when it rains if it is
The little prince came in last night and greeted my sister and father, then left about twelve, then he was at the door this morning when I opened it. I think we may have a semi permanent lodger now...
Today ther eis some tidying and cleaning to do, I might have to buckle up buttercup and get it done....
Sorry to hear of that dumpling, it's unsettling when stuff like that happens because ou end up on tenterhooks with adrenaline spikes then come downs afterwards. what about making your friend a small hamper of goodies for christmas? ..bella, still got jet lag? TA, enjoy Ilkley of you go. Speky, you fell victim to the ;just one more drink' mentality of being drunk. I'vedone it loads of times and then regretted it, but I have learned now. Took a long time thoughHope you're feeling better now! Jackie, you have some stamina! OL, weird dreams seem to be going round, I dreamt I swapped bodies with someone else, and someone who was far more attractive than I am
Nelski, hope the supermarket has the gubbins...Lainey, look after your knee! AOD, that's such a good idea to have squishies in squad cars...Holly, take care, it's crap when the chemo is happening but it will end eventually...Wotcha Poppy, Nanny....
Hope today is good for all of you!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Afternoon all
We were out early to get to town and hopefully miss the crowds. It was busy but when we were ready to come home it was manic, as people were fighting over car parking spaces . We met lots of friends in town, so much talking ensued :rotfl:. Got everything we wanted except postage stamps , Oh and Mr Fix It wanted some celery to put in a curry ( I don't know why he even wants to put that in it, as he loathes the stuff ), so I'll have to pop into the village tomorrow. I also did my good deed for the day by helping a man in a wheelchair through the tills in As*a. ( sits polishing her halo)
This afternoon I shall empty the DW and clean down the worktops. I need to sort out the clothes I washed yesterday as I dumped them all in the ironing basket. Please don't tell me they all need ironing. No crisis averted ! I remember that there are towels and underwear in there too. Phew that was a close shave :rotfl:
-taff. apologies that I missed that it was your birthday yesterday. Sending you a belated Penblwydd Hapus Ffrind. Also birthday wishes to Mr taff _party_ for today.
Dumpling I hope Lily and Steve make amends soon. Hugs to all your family.
Cliffsgirl welcome
Candygirl I'm glad you had a good time at church yesterday.
MeanMarie I'm with your DGD about peter rabbit :j
Organza Lace how's the cough today ? Better I hope. Your dreams are probably a manifestation of your worrying in RL. Ahem ! I was dreaming too......I had a lovely dream that involved George Clooneysigh.....
JackieO woah there put the brakes on ! :rotfl:.
Speky I hope you feel better in yourself today. It's a big deal having to uproot yourself from friends and family. Have an extra hug from me.
TA I'm sure people will understand that you are not into the Xmas spirit of things. If they don't then that's their problem, not yours. ( P.S. just send them to me and I'll sort them out :rotfl: ).
I suppose I'd better get off my behind and show willing, even if I can just make it to the kettle in the kitchen, it will be a step in the right direction :rotfl:
Take care and hugs all round today.

Afternoon folks and welcome CLIFFSGIRL.
Well I made it to Ilkley and rather than coming home laden like a pack horse with M & S goodies, I came home laden with Laura Ashley gifts! There was the usual sale on (some stuff 30% off some stuff 50% off) so I got quite a few really nice bits and pieces. Onwards to M & S and they didn't keep the hampers I wanted in stock, but had other ones that I didn't want!! So a nice chap ordered the ones I did want and they will be delivered free of charge to me on Friday. Came home and ordered a gift voucher for DS and his DP for a hotel we have stayed at in the Lakes a few times. Hope they like it there too! Money envelopes bought and filled for the older kids I buy for. So I am getting there bit by bit! Just DD, her bf and the 3 girls now. Am thinking of gift cards of some sort for them too. Need to get thinking cap on. I am passing on all the numerous stocking fillers this time (except for a cute pen and notebook from Laura Ashley earmarked for eldest DGD. Couldn't resist it!)
Normally Christmas shopping is spread throughout the year and I reckon nowt to buying stuff in haste when I don't feel remotely festive.
I shall just be glad when it's all over.
It's come flipping cold this afternoon so the heating is on full blast.
Have a nice afternoon folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Dear me,so many sleep problems today
At 1.30 am Ds whispered was I awake ( I was but it made DH awake with a jump). He tends to work quite late on his computer and said he'd heard a big crash outside,he thought it was a car on the main road.Couldnt see anything and no sirens so not sure what it was.Took us a while to get off again though.
I've been out with my oldest friend for lunch today,to somewhere neither of us has been before. It was very nice though the portions weren't very big.The best thing was the views as it was on the edge of the moors, and only 10 minutes up the road from me.Will certainly go back again.
Just lit the burner,it felt chilly when I got back in.That should please DH,he can turn the radiator down when it comes on.
I have a few online jobs to do before the men come home so I'll love you & leave you and hope you all get a good nights sleep tonight xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Haven’t been reading or posting much
but I have to say thank you to WeeMidgie :T My DH IS a real gem
Yesterday is a case in point - one lens fell out of my glasses - the screw holding it in snapped  My DH has large hands - not ideal for fiddly jobs
but he spent 4 hours - forgoing everything he wanted to do - repairing my glasses so :j now I can see
I really did hit the jackpot when I met him :j over beers in a pub

Afternoon - work done...cleaner been, washing machine finished and venison shank slow cooked to perfection. It's the first time I've used my PKP so I'm delighted. My next venture may even be to use it as a pressure cooker though I'm rather scared of it.
My cleaner has left me a beautiful poinsetta - let's count the days until I manage to kill it!
Welcome cliffsgirl - good to see you posting.
It's very cold here, I thought it was going to be milder but now realise that that's happening at the end of the week. I'm now going to hang the washing up in the spare room and set the dehumidifer going. There's much more than I remember, I obviously didn't do a wash last week. :j
My Monday students are a lovely bunch though academically very challenged, I despair for them. They want to get a qualification in a practical subject and can't do the equivalent of a Higher. Such a shame.
I hope that everyone is warm and doing well.0 -
 good evening, Oldstylers!
I've had a mad busy few days and haven't been able to keep up with reading and posting - though I'm still concerned about all who are sick / carers / lonely ......................... please accept some prayers and ((((Healing Hugs)))) from me .................... in the case of Speky - make them ((((gentle ones)))).
Welcome to cliff'sgirl - great to 'meet you' and looking forward to reading your input :j!
Had a fairly quiet day in the charity shop today - seemed to do quite well on the refreshments side of things though. Lots of Tea/Coffee/Toast/Toasted Teacakes got sold today - probably something to do with the damp/dreary weather.
I'm off to my DS2's for an overnighter tonight. They need a baby-sitter for DS5 - aka 'The Bobster' - for tomorrow, so my 'free day' is no more ....................... :rotfl:.
Noticed that so many didn't get a good night's sleep last night, I DO hope that the sleep-fairy visits everybody tonight and waves her Magic Wand over you all.
Off to watch Coronation Street before DS2 arrives to collect me. Night night, God Bless - don't let the bedbugs bite - luv Ollie xxx0
