  • Doh, just lost a longish post, it's maddening.

Hi everyone anyway - we returned yesterday from visiting BIL in south west, he doesn't have internet access, and the mobile signal was poor, so couldn't post.

Sorry to hear you've had family troubles Dumpling. Hope it calms down for you.

Hope you've had a good time Bella.

I'll read back later to see what everyone has been up to.

    Take care folks
  • Good morning all

Thank you for starting us off bellabella

Thinking especially of Holly, Poppy and taff

    Dumpling
sorry to hear your problems, maybe now it's all out in the open things will be better. Could you ask your friend to visit over Christmas? I know it's not the same situation but I thought we were going to be alone all Christmas. Coming home I spoke to a neighbour and she has invited us for mince pies on Boxing day. I'm not good with people but at the same time looking forward to it.

    Take care all
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.
  • Good morning chums and my goodness there are some early birds on this morning hope you all manage to get a bit of a nod later to catch up on your sleep.

Had a nice weekend at my sis-in-laws in Faversham and a smashing meal out at the pub on Saturday night .

Busy week this week as this morning I have book club and also have to pick up my new glasses, plus make sure all my overseas family cards are posted. Two to Eire and one to Australia and one to Canada and Mexico, that's going to take a chunk from my account no doubt :):) Postage seems to get more expensive every year.

Tomorrow I have the hairdressers for a trim plus U3A coffee morning and pub quiz in the evening.

    Wednesday is U3A Christmas party

Thursday I am driving to Hertfordshire to pick up Jack and his washing from Uni

Friday I am in central London with Jack so he can have his interview for his passport
and another week will have flown by !! in between I will have some present wrapping to do plus walking DDs dogs and keeping an eye on the boys after school.I also need to pop to a couple of housebound friends with some small Christmas hampers I have made up for them

I shall meet myself coming back I think :):):)

My thoughts go out to those who are finding this time of the year hard, whether financially or emotionally.

Take care chums, we are hear if you need to unload

    Love'n'stuff

    Morning all

Seems cooler here this morning so have turned the heating up a bit, work was very quiet yesterday it was a waste of time going in really, and my boss now has to give me a day off in lieu so will have to cover me for that.

After work yesterday I came home to find OH had made a beautiful roast dinner :j it was so tasty and huge !! it had five veg on it  I went into a slight food coma afterwards :D bless him it was so tasty. He also did enough for this evenings meal so that's sorted.

Nels I really liked Fleur too I really though it should have been her and Harry in the final, I was not keen on Emily though she was a bit full on.

Right best get ready have good days all xx
  • Good morning,

I'm feeling a bit guilty. I had a night out on Saturday night which lasted till the wee hours and I think I over spent. I went out for 'a few drinks' with my colleague and his friends. When it got to 11pm, there was a decision to be made; go home or head out in to Manchester. I felt I needed to go out because I've never been out in Manchester and as I'm in a new city, I need to meet new people. I know I paid some rounds of drinks with contactless, so I'm waiting on my bank catching up till I see the full damage tomorrow.

Yesterday I felt sorry for myself. Didn't wake up till 12noon, and lay on the couch all day.

No gym this morning to allow me to catch up on sleep, I may go a run tonight. Although I've a list of things to be getting on with.

    Bella
    - Did you get a tree of some sort? Or are you tree-less?
AoD - You're going to make a bear? Am I missing something...
Dumpling - Well by the sounds of it, you giving her a call will be appreciated, so don't diminish that.
    Midgie - Thanks :)

    Morning :)

Busy in here today I feel for everyone having sleep issues mine seem to have calmed down a bit but I certainly don't take it for granted.

Few things to run around for today so hoping the crowds stay away again. Around this I am joining you Bella on floor mopping duty. House is fine bar a quick hoover so I also need to start getting out some jolly holiday clothes for washing :D

After realising I wasn't going to get chinese pancakes from Asda I did some research and it turns out we have a big international supermarket in my town which by all accounts sells everything Asian so Im off to investigate today.

Duck was nice but a little too rare even for my carnivore tastes. Theres a breast left so I will lob it in the oven tonight for a bit more cooking then hopefully have withe some proper pancakes :)

rrreally didn't like Emily didn't get why she did so well ...her constant screaming drove me nuts.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,

Bit later getting on today, I had an upset tum all of yesterday and didn’t sleep very well so feeling a tad wrung out today. I was meant to be going another one of my physio class but can’t face it so will just potter around and get over to see Lu later, didn’t see her yesterday and miss my pony.
Sorry to read that there has been an upset in your family Dumpling, my Dad and I used to clash a lot because we were very similar character wise, am sure it will all blow over soon.
Hugs to all that need one, especially Holly & Polly.

    Take care folks x
  • Speky my hobby is knitting and I make a lot of toys. I've made about a dozen elves this Christmas, plus some bears in babygros for new babies, children's clothes, clothes for toys and I'm making bears for a friend in Scotland. They are actually for her local police service who are keeping soft toys in their panda cars for when they have to transport small children in emergencies, something to hold for comfort. And later I must start a coat for a friend's greyhound who does not like the cold.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Belated birthday wishes taff.

    Holly, thinking of you.

Dumpling, I used to fall out with dad because we were both alike and stubborn as heck, we had a much better relationship when I left home.

I'm sitting here longing for a cuppa but I've got a fasting blood test in an hour so I have to wait. Then we're off to London to take Ziggy home, I can't wait to see Laura because I know she's had a tough weekend. Steve is going to see her yoga teacher for an individual lesson, she is a very experienced teacher who specialises in health issues, she really helped Laura when she had her awful neck problem.

I wrote the cards yesterday but stlll have the letters to write for the few people we like to keep more in touch with, I'll do those at Laura's.
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, sorry to hear about your weekend Dumpling, hope things improve over the next few days.

Holly, if you are reading, keep your chin up girl, we are all rooting for you. Its difficult to get out even for a short stroll in this weather.

We were awake at 2am drinking tea, OH complaining he was hot.....so we slept in this morning.

Load in the washer, it will go in the dryer. OH is going to Evergreens this afternoon, I am taking our neighbour with us, she wants to do some shopping in the town, I will pick her up after I have collected OH and bring her home.

I cooked a gammon joint yesterday, so want to use the liquor to make lentil soup for lunch, have a loaf to slice as well.

Frittata for supper, possibly with salad will see what OH wants. I made creme caramel yesterday, so enough left for tonight.
