Inside Track

  • Just been to one of the free seminars and like one of the previous respondents I found the sales technique vomit inducing!

However, as it turns out a friend of a friend actually signed up with Inside Track 18 months ago and I ended up talking to him yesterday about it, outcome he hasn't got a bad word to say about them and reckons he's made 150K hard cash since joining.

His view is that inside track don't have any hidden charges and are upfront about what they charge - unlike others.

Me - I'm still confused, but after a lot of research over the past few months I can't see anything dodgy here. Still not saying I'll invest!!
  • Lady - couldn't agree more!

Went to one earlier this year. Speaker was pushy and rude - trying to make you feel stupid for not signing up there and then. HE was basically bullying you into thinking you would miss out if you didn't pay them thousands there and then!!

    DEFINITELY steer well clear !!!!!!!!
  • Inside Track were on Watchdog a few weeks ago, with many disgruntled "clients". Steer clear. I know of several people who were daft enough to pay these people money.

Was it actually Inside Track on there? I thought it was about a guy called Spencer Michael. Have searched the BBC site and can't find anything.

I really need something good or bad on these guys to pass on to a friend of mine who's going to join them because her boss has recommended them. Don't want her parting with £10K to lose it!

Searches on google come up with other companies in this field and not Inside Track.

Yes I know Spencer Michael is dodgy, what I'm trying to find out is people's experience of Inside Track themselves. Besides over zealous salesmen are they any good?
  • Yesterday, I went along with a friend to one of the free workshops after my friend received a mailshot. The speaker was Steve Sweet and it was a heavy sales pitch. I walked away but my friend signed up and nows wants to cancel. He then phoned his brothers to see if any of them wanted to be his 'get one free' place on the 2 day course. One of them was the original people that went to Prague when Inside Track used to ask for £12K for a weekend workshop in a top hotel. He said that most of the deals involve getting cash out of existing mortgages and then investing in another, so you are constantly cycling things around. As for the access to 'specialist' finance brokers and deals that never came through. I am sure people make money through this but I agree that most of it you could do yourself. Apparently the advice about buying in ICI (Investment, Construction, Infrastructure) areas and getting special deals was not as good as it seems. I'm glad I ran away, I only hope that Inside Track honours their 8 day cancellation period for my friend. Has anybody any experience of cancellations and this company. On a lighter note what's the colour of this 'special' carpet that Steve said would be revealed in the course?!
Now debtfree except for the mortgage!

I can't believe that people will pay £2K to be told how to run a get rich quick scheme.

Anyway, I'd love to go to one of these free "seminars" just for a laugh.
Anyway half the people walked out and the other half stayed to ask questions making the speaker very confused and agitated.
    Sounds quite entertaining.
    Happy chappy

I can reveal it's......Terracotta! I kid you not. Out of the mouth of the speaker who looked like a troll came the words I nearly cried to.....

"I'm an interior designer with xx years experience and I can tell you, when refurbishing a high spec property, don't make the mistake the amateurs make. Don't put down laminate or wooden flooring. It's not what high spec buyers want and it's not fashionable. What you need is terracotta carpet. It goes with everything and doesn't show up dirt."

When questioned by a few people about this...oh ok I admit, we all laughed at him, he got very cross, reminded us of his vast experience and basically told us we weren't intelligent enough to understand.

Call me unfashionable if you like, clueless even but I am not kitting my house out in bl**dy terracotta carpet. IT DOES NOT GO WITH EVERYTHING. Idiot Trollman.

Good grief! A terracotta carpet might be cheaper but speaking as someone now into the carpet and wall covering stage on a 'high spec' property, I don't think anyone could pay me to put down terracotta carpet (not saying you can't try ;) ).

The solid oak floorboards look fab though :p.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • Oh No, you're not supposed to use Terracotta cos it's cheaper. You're supposed to use it because it's the best flooring to have. The colour goes with everything and it's what every high spec buyer wants according to him and he's a professional:confused:
I'd like to wrap him in a terracotta carpet and roll him down a very large hill. The eeejot.
