I was hoping to save £20.19 in the first day of 2019.

Bizarrely I just unexpectedly achieved my target.

Took my wife and son to our local pub for cooked breakfast which would have cost £20.25 and they made loads of mistakes with our order (which I individually politely asked them to rectify) and the manager overheard and came over to say the meal would be free!

Well done Morata_. I think some MSE'ers forget that not everyone has a good wage and find it easy to save. The thought of this had crossed my mind, so I'm in. I will aim to get that amount into my SIPP, so that I can get some tax relief too!

    My 2'pennyworth:
    1. Already use Freeview - no plans to change
    2. Phone on PAYG, so c. £5 per month, not always used
    3. Never belonged to a Gym in my life, and certainly not starting now
    4. New car! - try a Dacia, or go 2nd hand
    5. Local not always cheaper than web, depends what you need.
    6. Takeaway meals - more likely £100 per year - and probably regret it afterwards.
