Going to to try and have a got at this challenge, a slightly more affordable version of the £12k version ive seen on here...
Good luck if you decide to save along...obviously, you save more than £2019 then thats great and fully encouraged. This is aimed at those who struggle to save, might not earning high wages or just someone looking to save a smaller pot for a special occasion.
All the best.
Offiical start date, 1.1.19.

Not quite sure this is what the OP was looking for!
But very interesting to hear that most pensioners could save £2019 in just 2 months. Sounds great.
Though they must be a different group to most pensioners I know - as those barely even receive £2019 in a 2 month period, let alone save it.0 -
£2019/365 days = £5.53 per day
Small goals! Big steps to saving!

1 Almost everything I watch is on Sky channels, so not planning on giving that up (~£35 a month). Not interested in Netflix/Amazon offerings
2 iPhone contract only costs £9 a month so no savings there
3 Don't have a gym membership so no saving there
4 Car cost me £2,000 8 years ago and still going strong so no savings there
5 Car insurance annual renewal was only £171 last month so no saving there
6 Average spend on takeaways this year has been £12.21 per month so no savings there
Any more tips?0 -
The 12k challenge has everybody saving their own set target. Not everyone is saving £12k so it's as affordable as you likeTotal savings 2018- £7450 (includes Lisa bonus)

Get rid of sky for now TV. Has all the main sky channels plus box sets/ on demand. It costs us £15 a month max which includes all the sky movie channels. You can also cancel month to month for when you don't want to pay out each month.
Normally get offers after cancelling. So in paying ££3.49 for entertainment a month at the moment and £3.99 for movies so not even a £10 a month. Sky want £16 just for movies last time I checked.Total savings 2018- £7450 (includes Lisa bonus)

As someone who works in insurance, I nearly spat my drink out when I read this point!!
Local brokers might be able to offer a superior service / piece of mind talking to a real, local human being, but invariably they will almost never beat aggregator sites for personal lines insurance (home, motor, pet etc....)
Agree with the other points though (well maybe not gym, I see that as a necessity as someone with a desk job!).0 -
Not keen on NowTV as it doesn't seem to cover all the channels I watch most often. I don't bother with the Movie channels as I rarely have the time/inclination to watch a whole film in one go.0
