    That said, posts nos. 6 (using keyboard shortcuts) and 9 (using mouse wheel) identify effective work-arounds and are the ones I use.

    What Operating system are you using?


    On Windows I turned off ALL sounds via

    Control Panel - Hardware and Sounds - Change System Sounds > . . . . .

    Yep, thats how to do it for Windows pcs, you can silence any system sound, change sounds etc :T
