Can I just give the other side of the coin here? I am the main earner at home and, when DS2 came along 18 months ago, DH and I discussed it and due to the erratic nature of my shifts, we decided that DH would stay at home until DS2 is at school, then DH can go on to retrain/study to do whatever he wants. That said, I still do my bit around the house and with childcaring, as after all we are a partnership. However, as I have mentioned before in a previous thread, I am aware we are in a minority and many more couples have to both work full time to keep their heads above water. I don't think it's for anyone to say whether or not it is more beneficial to children to have one parent at home all the time. I think it's up to the individual families. What works for one family, may be hell for another.Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0
