Chances are then OneTel are waiting to see if TalkTalk continue this offer and how many customers they either lose or their (possibly regular) intake of new customers dips a fair bit and then they reluctantly agree to run this offer.

I wonder if they'll (both TalkTalk & OneTel) reduce their unlimited free geo calls to £9.99 to match AOLTalk and Tele2's equivalant package of £9.95.

With so many firms now using 0845/0870 (which are excluded from inclusive mins) then eventually the only calls we'll be making are the ones to house phone landlines (friends/family, etc)!

Obviously that is the only reason why we have so many cheap or free calls included packages to choose from.

I know that some firms still think they are doing as a favour with their 0845 number - perhaps they were 5 years ago, but times have changed. The ones using 0870 numbers are ripping us off. I wanted to ring a local ferry company the other day, but it was a 0870 number to ring 2 miles down the road!!!! It's crazy that you can ring the USA for next to nothing, but it costs a fortune to ring practically next door.

Speaking of the States, even companies like British Airways offer 1-800 (freephone) numbers over there. Over here 0870 - good old rip off Britain is alive and well.

Sorry to rant on, but I feel better for getting that off my chest.

Thanks, but of course I do.

It's just that it's such hard work in this country with this cat and mouse game all the time.

Still, all of our perseverence pays off.

I can't imagine TalkTalk will be desparate to keep me come August as my average bill with them per month is about 20p ;)

I will probably stay with them though as I have several friends on TalkTalk which means free calls between us. I will of course apply to transfer to the free w/end calls when the time comes.

I spoke to Talk Talk again.I pointed out that yesterday they told me that the £7.99 would last for life. They apologised and confirmed that it was only a 12 month offer and reverted to £12.99 after one year. The person i spoke to knew nothing about existing customers getting the Talk 3 package for £9.

This offer is open to existing customers as well. I rang today to switch to talk 3. I told them I wanted to change over the internet because greasy palm were offering £7 cash back. They changed me over and credited me for the £7 I would have got going through the internet.
    HOW MUCH ?

Tele2 are now doing their unlimited calls for £7.49 (slightly beating AOL/TalkTalk).

Due to this I have posted an update accordingly. Oh and thanks to Pricefighter for noticing this.

Will OneTel cave in to pressure?

The interesting thing is that Tele2 are doing the offer for existing customers ,and its for as long as you keep the product.Unlike other suppliers.

NOTE.If you go to the https://www.tele2.co.uk you will see the offer although they havent altered main site tariffs yet.

There is another thread about Tel 2 prices posted by me at 2.28pm today. The interesting thing is that they are doing them for existing customers and its for as long as you keep the product.Unlike other suppliers.
I know that's where I got the info from. I hope you didn't mind me doing this but thought it better that people are aware that both TalkTalk/AOL and now Tele2 are doing this. I have thanked you and mentioned you in the post above yours and in my original amended opening post.

    Thanks again.
