Unlimited Calls with TalkTalk/Tele2 - From £7.49?

TalkTalk are now doing unlimited (well for the first 70mins of each call anyhow) geographical calls for £7.99.

They're obviously only doing this to match AOL's unlimited geographical package of the same monthly price.

As of time of writing this, OneTel don't appear to have any offers but I suspect they may also match the price of £7.99 for their unlimited geographical package.

Click here for more info on TalkTalk's unlimited price plan.

(note: TalkTalk are only doing this offer for 1 year!)

UPDATE: Tele2 are now doing their unlimited calls for £7.49 (slightly beating AOL/TalkTalk). Due to this I amended the title of the post! Thanks to pricefigher for posting this information here.

But at £7.99 a month (£8) you would need to make more than 400 calls daytime Mon-Fri per month, 50 a week. 10 a day, by using 18866 at 2p per call to justify the monthly outlay, because evenings and weekend calls can be free using Onetel or TalkTalk

TalkTalk customer services today confirmed they would be offering line rental at £9 per month for existing customers. They reckon the offer will start next month.

According to THIS PAGE it is only for 12 months, then £12.99 per month, Talk 3, look for the * following £7.99 at the bottom of thre page

I don't remember reading that yesterday when I started this thread so either they amended it after I read it yesterday morning or I missed it. Either way, I've amended my original post accordingly. Thanks.

Switch to TalkTalk and save on their Talk 3 tariff this month only.

This month TalkTalk are offering the Talk3 tariff for £7.99 instead of £12.99 - it is equivalent to BT Option 3.

See the website for more info on what they offer http://www.talktalk.co.uk/

P.S. If you decide to join please take a look at my referer's post and we can make a few quid while we are at it. Cheers.

I spoke to Talk Talk again.I pointed out that yesterday they told me that the £7.99 would last for life. They apologised and confirmed that it was only a 12 month offer and reverted to £12.99 after one year. The person i spoke to knew nothing about existing customers getting the Talk 3 package for £9.

If you wanted at £7.99 and you're an existing customer you would probably have to threaten to leave them and move to AOLTalk who do it at £7.99. This wont work though if you use TalkTalk as your bb supplier as if they think about it then they'd realise that you're not on AOL and the AOL price is only valid for existing AOL bb/dial-up users.

Having a look through this months magazine, they have a 2 page spread about TalkTalk 3 at £7.99 and nowhere does it read that its only a limited 12month offer so therefore I suspect they realised their mistake and amended the website quickly but of course the magazines are done in advance so obviously cant be amended.

Got an email back from OneTel (I asked if they were planning on doing the same promotion). Here is their reply:-
Thank you for your recent e-mail.

We would like to inform you about our TotalUKTalk plan. £10.99 per month

    - £4 less than the BT Together Option 3 monthly fee, and lower call rates!

    - FREE UK Directory Enquiries when you dial 118 111 from your registered landline.

    - Billed per second with a minimum charge of just 4.8p on chargeable calls.

    - 5% saving vs. BT Together rates to UK mobiles.
Obviously a standard prepared reply. Still none the wise as to whether they intend to do the same promotion but I'm guessing at this moment, the answer is no.

Can anyone remember who was the first to do the free evening&weekend between OneTel & TalkTalk? I'm trying to see if there is a pattern as in TalkTalk do these offers and then OneTel eventually do the the same!

TalkTalk was the first as I was with Onetel then moved to TalkTalk last August when they started the free w/end and evening calls for a year.

Onetel only brought it out in February this year so quite some time after TalkTalk.
