  • For what its worth guys, the gent that posted has sorted this for me.

I now show a credit on the balance (and due is back in line with what I would expect) as I thought I should have. Am also now free to move on, which I'll be doing. So kudos to Ken.

I believe it all stems from the reading the 'previous occupiers/suppliers gave (Utility Warehouse) so hopefully that's been put to bed now. Although, I've yet to be billed by them for the 24 days I had their supply, so we'll see!

Have a good holiday all and sorry for the moaning :)

    Really?

How did the supplier do this for you? How did ythey recognise you from anonymous posts on an internet forum?

Or perhaps this supplier only has you as a customer, so took a flyer? :rotfl:

I think it's not just the reported posts in this thread that need looking at by the Forum Team, but the whole thread. As is often said, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Whilst the Foreum Team look at this thread, they should perhaps consider the entire board, and even possibly the forum
I would estimate a good 75% of revcent posts on this board are suspect.

But they won't, as they stick their heads in the sand unless they get a report. So does anyone know a good deal on handcarts? Because the forum team are going to need quite a few, the direction this forum is going. :(
  • Tin hat required?

The person left their name. I sent an email to their contact address for their attention. As asked.. whilst also using their chat tool.
Its not all roses...My second attempt at leaving the supplier has been met by another block/objection so its not over yet.

God forbid anyone using a public forum to ask if people have had similar experiences, what's the world coming to.
  • Homeshift energy are absolutely terrible. We have also had trouble switching from them to Octopus, who are brilliant by comparison.
As a poster above suggests, Homeshift looks like a third party admin simplifier which perhaps they started out as, bringing your bills into one place for ease. However they have also become energy suppliers and at this they suck, quite simply. They are favoured by estate agents and letting agents as they claim to be able to "monetise" everyone - so guess who pays for this at the end of the day? The unsuspecting tenants. We inherited an account when we took on a tenancy, this was in December 2018. It's now March and we're still not completely extricated due to Homeshift's incompetence. As above, Kenny, the manager, responded when I left a google review which to be honest I found overzealous, patronising and invasive. Hence I am posting this with a pseudonym. I just want to complain, Kenny! About your high prices, the way you don't take phone calls, your patronising "customer service", the time and complications we have had to endure to leave the service we didn't choose to sign up for, and to take the biscuit, on the day we have literally just got a final bill and with the light at the end of the tunnel, and I receive a marketing email today from Homeshift, suggesting we switch to Homeshift with no means of unsubscribing from the marketing email that I didn't even sign up for! Not even in my email preferences section on my account! Sort it out and familiarise yourself with GDPR! I hope every day I hear from this company will be the last. I absolutely dread moving somewhere new and finding out the energy is with Homeshift. It would put me off taking a tenancy there to be honest knowing I would have to deal with them again.

    No Kenny on here .
  • To clarify: Kenny is the overzealous manager of Homeshift who personally replies to Internet reviews of his terrible company in patronising fashion. He's not on this thread but he's probably reading it.
  • This company is abusing my partner with bullying and threatening tactics.

We moved to Dorset and paid their final bill to move to an energy supplier we know.

Now they are chasing us daily saying we owe more and they are taking us to court.

We have paid everything off and we get further letters saying we are taking you to a debt collection agency, even though we paid.

With the stress of moving during lockdown and living in an empty home with 2 young children, this pushed my partner over the edge yesterday and she tried to kill herself, luckily i was able to force her to drink lots of water and be sick.

How can we stop this company from using bullying and abusive tactics with good hard-working people?

I have also taken this to the papers and hope they will print a story about the evil methods being used by these bullies.

I intend to take this as far as I can because this is bordering on emotional abuse or even assault.

Is it time for regulation in this area to prevent Estate Agents, Letting Agents & Landlords from signing tenants up to utility arrangements that are simply cash cows for said agents?
It should be a requirement for the incumbent utility suppliers for a property to be clearly listed on property details so that prospective tenants can run a mile from these backhander organisations.

I agree - there have been many unhappy saga's on the forum and I suspect we see very little of the tip of the mountain.

I haven't moved houses for donkey's years - could any of the recent movers comment on what info they were giving by EA and LA about the procedure for reading meters, ringing suppliers...……...
