!!!!!!!!!At Vanquis we think that more people should have the chance to have a credit if they want one. And that includes you - if your circumstances have recently changed, you've got little or no history, have had problems in the past, or just have a lower than average income.
All of our Visa cards come with:
- No annual fee
- Up to 56 days interest free on purchases
- Free additional cardholder
- Free fraud monitoring - we'll warn you of any suspicious activity on your account
- Chip & PIN technology for added security whenever you use your card
- Visa is widely accepted in the UK and abroad
- Convenient for paying online and over the phone
- Friendly UK call centres
- typical 39.9% APR

Hi There,

Oh....My....God!!!0

Take it easy. If you took out a store card, you'd really know what a high APR was!0

I actually applied for a vanquis card 3 months ago and thy turned me down, but aqua and capital one accepted me. Now Vanquis are literally emailing me every day to apply for a card. THey can go take a walk, im happywith the cards i have, they should have accepted me in the first place.
Nobody should bother with them. I have had excellent service from aqua and the interest is lower.0 -
Think that's bad?
The current RBS Black (invitation only) card is running an APR in excess of 50% APR!!!0 -

This is misleading, I'm not one to stick up for the card companies normally, but this is only because this card is for high earners (£75k+) and carries an annual fee of £250 - when they work out the APR using the CCA regualations of £1500 as an example, the annual fee distorts the APR hugely.
All the details here --> http://www.rbsblack.com/RBS-Black/global-options.asp?page=GLOBAL/SUMMARY-BOX
And anyone earning that much I would imagine if they had any sense would be paying it off in full each month anyway0 -

If you do a search on Vanquis, you'll find there has been plenty of posts on here about it. Yes, the APR is high, but they also give people cards who can have trouble getting them elsewhere. As long as people who apply for pay them off in full every month then they are very useful for un creditworthy people.0 -
Most (well, alot) MBNA cards are now at a rate of 34.9%No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
