Just when I thought it was safe someone has received a Vanquis offer. For all newbies this has all been well documented on this site before.

This is misleading, I'm not one to stick up for the card companies normally, but this is only because this card is for high earners (£75k+) and carries an annual fee of £250 - when they work out the APR using the CCA regualations of £1500 as an example, the annual fee distorts the APR hugely.

All the details here --> http://www.rbsblack.com/RBS-Black/global-options.asp?page=GLOBAL/SUMMARY-BOX

And anyone earning that much I would imagine if they had any sense would be paying it off in full each month anyway

Why would they want that card in the first place? What benefits do they get for £250 per year?

Or do they pay £250 per year to show everyone else that they are a high earner.
  • Hi There,

Think you have got a cross line here.
  • Phone idea.

I like the 3 skyp phone offer at the moment because the mix and match that goes with it is really good aswell.

I will probably get it when my contract is up.

As for the credit card APR.

Just take a look at money super market and there are plenty on there with APR's like that.

Actually the Vanquis card sounds ideal for a lot of the posters on here. At least once a week there seems to be a post about foreign call centres, and if the card is paid off in full each month then the interest rate is irrelevant.

You get a more personal, faster service (no queueing for call centres, concierge service, etc). Not something your average punter would exactly need, but if you're busy and £250 is pocket change to you then it's worth it.
  • Hi Friends,

Thanks for your response...That keeps me thinking and I am sure this will help me to make my mind up...I will let you once I get mine...

    Thanks,

  • Hi guys,

How are you all...recently I watched a documentary on IPhones...you got to be careful on the contract/insurance...like if you loose your phone you have to have a new contract itseems...so watch out if you are going for one...

    Cheers,
    Ravi
