Cleaning hob crevices

Hi. Does anyone know how I can get the inside of our hobs looking good again? I thought vinegar might do it but don't want to damage the metal. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking!

Anything that comes off goes in the dishwasher occasionally. If it doesn't come off, you can't see it and you still want to clean it, it's time to get another hobby :D
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • I would spray it with Elbow Grease, leave for 10 minutes then wiggle one of those steel wire ball scrunchy things inside. For the top bit next to the stainless steel, I'd put a bit of Astonish paste and a few drops of water on it and use my finger to rub it in.

Fairy power spray will do the job. Let it sit then wipe off

.... and you've overcleaned the metal surround with something like a brilliant pad. Those scratch marks ... Ouch!
  • Toothbrush. Great for crevices!.......but not toothpaste on a cooker!:rotfl:
  • Those burner bases are made of some sort of aluminium alloy, or may be a zinc based alloy. Don't use anything acidic or alkaline, as acid will attack the zinc, and alkali will attack the aluminium.

Don't get anything into the central gas nozzle, but if you do, don't clean it out with anything metallic, you are likely to change the size of the nozzle, and thus the amount / balance of gas burnt.

And be careful of the ignition electrode, they are quite fragile.
