Morning everyone,
Thanks for the start Bella, glad you had fun in LV.
It’s a grim old day here but no matter as need to go through the house first thing, then it’s time to smarten up as meeting a couple of friends for lunch, we used to work together years ago and have stayed in touch since so will be nice to catch up on each other’s lives.
Hugs to Dumpling, Holly, Poppy and all our friends that are poorly, worried or caring for loved ones.
Take care folks x0 -
Morning everyone, and a happy Friday to you all,
Yesterdays football was cancelled (2 separate games in consecutive days cancelled due to a lack of numbers). So I had an evening free which meant I stayed late in work for a bit. Headed home for dinner and dithered on wither to go to a run or not and decided against it. Where has all my will power gone?!
This morning though, I went to spin class at 6.15. I feel good now but I'll no doubt be in bits over the weekend!! Tonight I've no plans but I do have a huge to do list for the weekend so I'll perhaps make a start on that. I also forgot to get chicken out the freezer for tonight too!!!
Tomorrow I will take the tram into Manchester for a few final Christmas bits and bobs then continue to plough through my to-do list. Sunday I have a game of football in the morning then yoga in the afternoon. Looking forward to it.
Gers - I'm pleased to hear it's a red squirrel. Less and less of them these days
bella - Disappointed that you didn't come back with millions, but you can always try again next time. I hear nothing but good things about LV.
Dumpling - You being there for him and catching it early will (positive thinking) prevent a recurrence of last time. I know you've lots on your own plate and I know you'll keep a close eye on him
Organza - Hopefully you've found the source. Perhaps a solution is one of those Dyson Air things, which cleans the air. You know the big oval, futuristic things?0 -
Good morning everyone and welcome back bellabella.
I woke up at 3.30 and have dozed since. Sewing group today then a visit to the local Dobbies to buy a national gardening gift token. I also need to buy a bottle of sherry for my aged aunt, and something small for my cousin, which will complete my Christmas shopping.
OL, sympathy for the smoke percolating through. Some years ago my brother and his then partner visited for a couple of weeks and both smoked outside the back door. It wasn't far enough for me not to be affected (lung condition), and after they left the house needed a deep clean including the curtains, regardless that they hadn't lit up in the house.
He's now stopped smoking and the partner is history, so no problems if he ever visits again! (he lives in Australia)
Happy Friday to one and all. xxx0 -
Good Morning , Oldstylers - brrrrr, it's a tad 'wet 'n' wild' out there at the moment
.
bellabella - thanks for starting the thread. What a shame about the charabanc money - might have to open one of those 'GoFundMe' pages. Sounds like you had a lovely time in Vega$
.
dumpling - so sorry to hear about Lee and Phoebe having problems, but it's good that they can share things with you. Hope they both get their situations sorted soon and its good that Phoebe is settling down in work. Thinking about you with your doppler scan and sending ((((Hugs)))) for you.
tru - thank you for the Christmas Carols each morning. Think you just might be best to contact g/f on Facebook to get some answers re the aftershave/perfume
.
Organza - sounds like it's time to ask the family to close the conservatory door and keep the window open if they have to smoke out there OR the 'other alternative' ............................. to go outside into the garden. I'm sure they don't do it on purpose - if they knew how much it distresses you, they'd probably be mortified. Yaay - a brand new wheelie bin :j.
ancientofdays - enjoy your evening with past colleagues - lovely chance for a 'catch-up'.
camelot - hope the kids keep calm today and that you enjoy your night out this evening.
nmlc - what a lovely 'act of kindness' to accompany somebody else in taking this person for their Christmas Shopping. I'm sure that your assistance with be well appreciated by both of them - even if one of them doesn't perhaps show it properly.
TA - sounds like you're really enjoying having the 'stars of the future' around your home right now :j. Best of luck with the French Plaiting ......................... I've never mastered it either.
silver-oldie - How lovely to be able to enjoy the Garden Centre in peace :T.
snoozer - good news about Steve's bone marrow biopsy :j. Enjoy your trip to Yorkshire with Ziggy.
Nelski - enjoy your lunch with friend.
Lainey - another going on a 'lunch date with friends' - have a great time.
Speky - shame about your cancelled footie matches - was it because there was footie on TV? I know that there's been a few midweek matches - my OH listens on radio plus he listens to cricket too. Enjoy your trip into Madchester tomorrow :j.
WeeMidgie - enjoy your sewing club and your visit to garden centre :j.
Thinking about all who are ill, supporting others or simply going through a rough patch - sending you all prayers and ((((Healing Hugs)))).
Today is my 'quiet day' of the week - but need to go out at some point. Need to buy a Christmas Gift for our church 'Giving Service' this weekend. Our donations are going to 'KIND' (Kids In Need and Distress) - mostly to children of families in Homeless Accomodation. Probably heading for Argos for that.
Also need to pick up some more fresh milk and some long-life as well, so can do MrT, near Argos, at the same time.
I'll pop back in again later to see how everybody's day has gone. Take care - luv Ollie xx0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Dumpling, sorry to hear that Lee is having problems again, good you are keep a tight hold on things.
Its a horrid morning, dark as the ace of spades and we have just had a vicious hail stone shower!!
We are off to my quilting friends today, hope the A46 is ok, its been getting very bad press recently with accidents and pile ups. I have a white load in the washer, needless to say its going in the dryer.
I have 3 table mats to sew the binding down on, and should get them done either tonight or tomorrow, then I can pack everything up and send it off on Tuesday...........clear up the sewing room and then get to grips with the embroidery bit of my machine.
We had a bit of a disaster yesterday. I bought flowers for my friend. OH had put them in a vase of water, the vase was too short and the weight of the flowers tipped it over, I had to strip the quilt off the bed and shove it in the dryer and put towels down on the carpet to soak up the water............hmmmmm........
Fish and chips tonight, will sort out a dessert of some description, it might be fruit.0 -
Morning all.
Haven't looked out yet or even drawn the curtains in DM's house. I've spent almost an hour on the phone to BT getting increasingly annoyed with their customer service. I'm now showered and sitting wrapped in a towel waiting until I drop dry! :rotfl:
Today's agenda starts with taking DM to the dentist and then, maybe, to the optician for her new glasses. 'Maybe' because she may be too tired to do both.
Hugs to Dumpling, TA and everyone.
Happy Friday.0 -
Morning all
It's bright and dry day :j. We were supposed to be on a yellow weather warning for today, but nothing adverse has occured yet.
It is also DD's birthday today :bdaycake:so I hope she has a good day with the children in her class. Last year they serenaded her with a song, accompanied with one of them on a guitar. Bless them, they are good kids at heart. We are all getting together to celebrate tomorrow so DD will receive her pressies then.
Today will be a pottering about day and this afternoon I need to pack a few more presents. I must put labels on them and in their respective bags as I go, or I shall be re-opening them because I can't remember whose is whose. :rotfl: I have recorded a Christmassy film so I may watch that while I pack.
Tea tonight will be braised steak in onion gravy, with mash and peas.
Righty ho I'd better start up the slow cooker and then empty the DW, as that has just finished.
Sending hugs to all.
Take care
