This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all I am home did you miss me:D
I will make my confession first I am afraid I lost the charabang money on the spin of a wheel all $30 in 20 minutes on the last day in Vegas:p so it looks like we will have to start the fundraising again
Had a wonderful time with our friends saw loads ate loads and walked for miles I would defiantly look to go again in a couple of years time but I would avoid BA I have had better trips with some tin pot airlines . The weather was good cool so really easy for getting around I have no idea why people would want to go in the heat of summer.
Its now back to earth with a bump and i need some motivation to get the xmas spirit underway .
The cases have been off loaded DH said before we went oh we only need one case as we didn't pack much and we won't be buying much cue a trip to the outlet mall and DH is fully kitted out for the next millennium and quite a few xmas gifts have been purchased 2 cases at full weight of 23kgs each arrived home with us  WM and TD are whirring away and a good clean through is required after DS has been here alone for a week its ok but he was working so didn't have time for a full clean. Dolly will be collected later but i am putting it off as she has such a good time with all the other dogs at the minder i bet she hasn't missed us .
I will try to catch up with the thread over the weekend but in the meantime I am sending healing thoughts and extra strength to all who need it . Have a great day whatever you are up to today xxxSlava Ukraini0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Thank you bella for starting us off and I am glad you had such a great time on your holiday, it sounded lovely and somewhere I would love to visit xx
Another night of not sleeping properly so I have given up and come downstairs for a drink and a surf round the net. I have the doppler scan today which is playing on my mind a bit I must admit. I need to try and get washed and dressed too before the nurse comes which is not as easy as it sounds.
Lee came to me last night and said that he is beginning to struggle again with his voices and that his mood has been quite flat. I have given him a lot of reassurance but will not hesitate to call in the mental health services as the last thing he needs is a repeat of last Christmas where we ended up in A and E on Boxing Day after he tried to kill himself. It is a massive worry but he says it isn't anywhere near that bad yet. I just have to keep the communication going and watch him like a hawk.
The grandchildren came over for dinner last night and had great fun playing with Alexa (our new amazon toy). My grandson was absolutely amazed to find out if you ask Alexa how many sleeps till Christmas, not only does 'she' answer you but Father Christmas chimes in as well. He is still young enough to believe in all the magic so it did me a lot of good to see how excited he was. They will be here for breakfast too in a few hours so I look forward to that.
I will get some chicken out for dinner tonight as we are having chicken in italian herbs, mash and beans. Phoebe will cook it if she isn't called into work. She and I had a long chat last night about everything and she is doing well at work. She has let herself run out of her antidepressant though which I am not too happy about. She has promised me to get another prescription though so I will continue to nag her to go and see our doctor. I do not want for her to slip back into her depressed and anxious ways as she is doing so well at the minute. She told me that her work are really pleased with how she is doing which was lovely to hear.
Well, I am off to make another drink and maybe watch an old episode or two of Doctor Who. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -

Master tru and his GF can't even manage to tell me what flavours of aftershave/perfume they like. They're going to get lumps of coal and NO satsumas at this rate. Actually I wonder if he's even told her that I've asked him about it – twice. Might just message her on FB, it'll probably be quicker to ask her rather than him

Morning all from the Wet Mudlands. It is pouring and meant to stay that way.
bellabella welcome home. Dumpling, thinking of you, also thinking of Holly, Poppy, Snoozer, TA and all those who are worried, unwell or sad.
I don't have especially interesting plans for the day but am going out to dinner with former colleagues this evening. Unusually, they have chosen a restaurant very near to me so no massive trek to get there. Looking forward to that. Will report back tomorrow, can't remember when I last ate in a restaurant though it can't be that long, surely!I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
We were warned of strong winds during the night but it's just a bit breezy, hope it doesn't get any worse, the children are wild when it's windy which makes for an interesting day at work!
I wrapped some more gifts last night, just one more to buy and I'm done!
Work night out tonight, could be fun!
Thinking of those with worries or are poorly, take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
bellabella - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.
Dark, blustery wind and raining here this morning, forecast is for similar over the coming days.
Dinner last night was liver, bacon and sausage with mash, carrots and peas, ice cream for dessert for those that wanted some. Not sure what we'll be having tonight - something easy and chips.
Yesterday I wasn't as productive as I'd hoped to be although I did get stuff done, just not as much as I'd hoped. I had a telephone call from a family member last night asking if I would go with them to take another family member to do some xmas shopping, said I would so that's the plan for this afternoon. Should be fun as I hate shopping of any description with this person but wouldn't leave it to someone else to have to do it alone and other family member can get tricky at times, so hopefully with 2 of us we can keep everything nice and relaxed. We'll see! I could do with sorting out my own xmas plans/shopping to be honest as I'm behind where I like to be at this point. I'll get DS1's birthday out the way this weekend - then get properly sorted.
I'll be heading to the SM first thing to do the food shopping, then tackling the ironing, and continue with the washing and drying - hopefully can get some more done - I don't seem to be able to find the bottom of the dirty wash basket at the moment so that's the plan over the next couple of days.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and welcome home BELLA. Sounds like a good time was had by all.
Wet and breezy here but some sun is forecast for later. I shall believe that when it happens!
The 2 DGDs were very late back from rehearsals last night - nearly 10 pm. I had done sausage, veg and mash as it seemed the easiest thing to warm up when they arrived. Youngest wasn't hungry and just wanted ice cream! The elder one was starving and had both the plates warmed up!
They are due to be picked up this morning at 10.45 for a noon start. Packed lunch needed and strict instructions that hair must be in tight French plaits. All well and good but I can't do French plaiting despite numerous lessons and attempts!! Dress rehearsal at 3 pm and to be picked up at stage door at 6 pm and MUST have a very early night! It's a hard life being a stage star and having to obey all these orders!!
Once they have gone this morning I must attempt some sort of Friday Tidy - albeit half hearted as usual.
Have a good day folks if you can and I hope those suffering with bugs soon feel better. ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off bellabella
Nelski thank you for the update on our dear Holly, please give her my best and let her know she is in my thoughts when you next speak.
Had a lovely time yesterday, nothing exiting. The weather was mild so we went to the garden centre. It was so quiet, hardly anyone there. One area was a winter wonderland, and of course the displays of Christmas goodies. We bought some mulled wine and chocolate covered fudge and had coffee.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Dumpling, it's good that Lee and Phoebe can talk to you about their mh. I tried the Alexa thing to Steve's astonishment.
Good vibes for Holly, Poppy, taff and anyone else who needs them.
We had a busy day yesterday, I took Ziggy for an early walk then we went for Steve's bone marrow biopsy. It was fine but the doctor told him he had very hard bones. Not a surprise to anyone who knows him as he's naturally very muscular and needs strong bones to support his frame.
We then had to drive to north London for an appointment. I was so tired when we got home. We're driving up to Yorkshire tonight but will be back tomorrow so it's just a flying visit, it's a good job Ziggy is so relaxed in the car, we don't even know she's there most of the time.0 -
