Hello

So this is it, my very own diary. Somewhere I can be absolutely honest with myself. I've made some silly mistakes but have had my light bulb moment so goodbye debt - you're going down!!

Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly how much I owe as I have one debt that is being regularly added to at a rate higher than my agreed repayments :o so for now I'm not going to include it in my totals. I'm just going to keep paying agreed monthly amount until I'm in a position to make a plan for that one.

Here is a list of my debts so I can watch them go down. Very £1548.16
CC1 £161.53
CC2 £194.01
CC3 £3168.85
Fish £150
Loan £256.73
Barclaycard £403.55
BT £71.58

Total : £5954.41

Need to find a way to make some extra money to pay off quicker so I can concentrate on the one that's going up each month. Also need to plan for a new car as starting to hold my breath each time I go out in mine :o

  • Good morning

Just checking innto keep myself on track for today. List of jobs to do today

Tidy house including mopping floors before work

    Go to second job
Do some washing and put away
    Put away clothes already washed
    Clean garden
    Make important phone call
    PAD

Try very hard for a NSD.
  • Good luck. What interest rates are you paying?

Very is usually expensive so are you targeting the smaller debts, Dave Ramsey style, (check out his debt videos) or MSE style which is most expensive first?

If you have a debt which is accruing high interest and they won't lower it I might consider defaulting on it. If you post an soa (link found on DFW sticky) you will get better advice as that gives more detail.

  • Hi enthusiasticsaver, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what my interest rates are:o

My debt that is increasing each month is interest free and will remain so until eventually paid off. It is estimated that it will increase each month for approximately 6 months  I would like to have paid off as much as possible of the rest of debt by then so I can then switch to paying this one off.

So today wasn't a NSD in the end but was still a good day. I spent £2.30 on a school dinner as we came out and left packed lunch at home:mad:
Then at second job employer gave me £10 extra and said consider it a pay rise. Not sure if they meant it would be like this every week or it was just a one off. Fingers crossed it will be permanent! I also spent £20 each on gas a electric keys and £2.67 in supermarket on pizza as kids had unexpected friends home. Usually though I'd have spent about £15 on dinner, drinks, deserts for them all, today they had pizza to go with what we already had :rotfl:

Tidied house before work this morning but need to do some more tonight :o
  • Oh and paid £2.06 to cc1 as my pad xx
  • Well not off to a very good mse morning
£14.99 payment off of debit card to ex husbands Xbox live:mad::mad: despite it having been cancelled twice!! Cancelled it then took a payment last time so cancelled it again and they've still taken another payment  going to have to contact bank and ask if they can stop it for me? Don't like these automatic payments off a debit card.

Food shop today. Hoping to be around £40? Have meal planned last night and written my shopping list accordingly. Partly living off of what we already have here.

Considering taking some stuff to the tip but the weather is putting me off! If I don't go I won't waste my time I will do something productive around the house. Paint a wall or something. I'm always saying I want it done and I have everything here so no reason not to be doing it.

Work this evening. Really enjoying workat tge moment which is nice.
  • Shopping came in at £47. Must try harder
  • :) Quick update

Had a bonus £50 paid as a thank you from main job yesterday. Really felt appreciated. Can redeem in vouchers for various places so will think carefully before wasting it.

Paid £2.18 pad to cc1. Hoping these little payments speed up becoming debt free. Made some small changes that I think will make a small difference. Had some chicken that nearing its use by date so instead of throwing it away I froze it to be used another day. Walking around turning lights off etc....

Am feeling very tired today. Very important telephone interview tomorrow so think this is emotionally/mentally tiring. Still got lots of little jobs to tackle at home this evening. Will probably cause a lot of eye rolling but am going to insist DD3 and DD4 help me.

Bought some fuel today and some bread. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow :D
  • Hello Diary:)

Not much to report today really. Important telephone call went very well, am hopeful of results of it but then again anything can happen so I don't want to be too confident. It's late and I'm just waiting for washing machine to finish so can put another load on before bed. Made £1 payment to pad this evening. Turned out not to be a NSD as DD3 needed new tights for school so bought them and yet another loaf of bread, total £5.95. Tomorrow will not be a NSD either as will need to pick up some dog food after work.
  • Yay my first NSD. Pay day next week. Can't come quick enough
