                    Hi
Anyone know of a tool that can tap like a hammer electronically?
I have a buildup of calcium like stuff on a plastic cover. I have tried lots of different chemicals with no joy.
Today I discovered if left to dry out it chips off with a semi-gentle tap with a hammer.
The cover is massive and by hand it would take many days.
Anyone know of a tool that could help
thanks

Can you not just drop it on the floor a few times from a reasonable height?0

An SDS type hammer drill with roto-stop would give you repeated blows, but I'd not call that gentle, and you'd be looking at a minimum of about £50 for a cheap model.

You could possibly contrive some kind of cushioning with rubber to reduce the impact force?"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0

Have you looked at needle scalers?0

All the usual "hammer" type tools I can think of are too brutal for descaling plastic I'd have thought.
 Tried a pressure washer?0

Have you considered getting it sand blasted? Not generally as expensive as you might think.0

How about this with adjustable pressure:

Thank you all for your suggestions.
I have ordered a SDS drill and am going to look into dry ice blasting.
 Thanks again0

Just make sure you are careful, even the cheap ones pack quite a punch. Test it on something non-valuable to get a feel before going anywhere near the plastic cover.I have ordered a SDS drill and am going to look into dry ice blasting."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0

sometimes the solution is to stop the problem.
What is causing the build up?
 What is the residual?
 Why does it stick.0
