If I lose or it gets rejected I don't have the luxury of forking out 100 let alone more as it'll take me a couple months to gather that

You do understand that a PoPLA decision is not binding on the motorist, don't you?

Why would anyone pay Britannia anything?

Ultimately they could take it to court but they may not and anyway it is not as scary as it sounds if you know what you're doing. It's very different from a criminal case. And with ongoing help from some of the people here you'd be in a strong position to win. Britannia are not the most awkward company to deal with.

If you were to lose at POPLA there would still be a very good chance of success, no need to pay up just because of losing at the POPLA stage.

Don't know how long you've got to cancel a payment. But if there's time to sit down and think about it with a cuppa, that might be a good idea. You're not going to let anyone down because this is your call, but do what feels right to you now that you know a bit more.

So you're up for the fight then!

First thing, remember that as your dad is the Registered Keeper, you will be appealing on behalf of him. I'm assuming he agrees to you doing the appeal in his name?

You have 28 days from the date of the first appeal rejection to submit the POPLA. However, the wise folk here state that actually that is 32 days, though the parking companies do not tell you this. Here are my suggestions for starters:

    1) work out your deadline for submitting the POPLA appeal and tell us please.

    2) I see the times given are 17:49:46 to 19:04:36. If possible, get a photograph at that time of day in order to show typical congested traffic and, of course, how dark it is. That would be much better than the Google image which doesn't show these things.

3)Check through your appeal and do what I advised in reply number 30 above. Be very clear, this is written from the Registered Keeper's point of view, describing the driver's actions. Spell-check too, note the proper spelling of Britannia, for example.

    4) Remember that when copying and pasting somebody else's appeal it is easy to leave bits in that aren't relevant and perhaps don't make sense. Use the one you have copied as the basis but make sure it fits the circumstances. Check for slip-ups.

I think you do have a bit of time to knock your appeal into shape (though would really like to know for certain what that deadline is). I for one will help over the Christmas period, though I am fairly new to this myself.
