best option (ie network) for temporary number porting
i have a contract with a number i would rather keep on vodafone.
During Black friday I took out a new contract, also on vodafone - a deal I wasn't able to refuse .... and yes I factored in the cost of ETF charges for my existing contract
To 'switch' my old number to my new contract I need to either
a) terminate the old contract (5 months left, ETF payable) on vodafone, they say it will then revert to PAYG AFTER 30 DAYS and allow porting back to vodafone contract
b) Use a PAC code to port out to another network (which can be more immediate, albeit still paying for the rest of 30 days before 22% reductions), then back in to the newer contract
Option a) has potentially a simple path - if I can trust the info vodafone gave me is correct, and the process works ok. Can anyone confirm they've done this?
option b) must work, but i need to find a 'donor' PAYG account to use. In which case, what networks will allow a port in/out without topup, or have the lowest allowable topup. Not having the number for a few days is fine.

what 22%?...0

Rather unclear, but it will be the cost for 5 months, not 30 days (which you say you understand, but your description belies that somewhat).
a) Definitely not.0 -
Many people say that this is possible.mobilejunkie wrote: »a) Definitely not.

Not sure I'd rely on that if I wanted to keep my number.0

You always can use plan B - porting through another provider.0
