If these 2 companies have now gone into administration is it worth it going with one of the other online estate agents. Does anyone know whether one of the other estate agents may come to their rescue

It's doubtful - the market is saturated and there will probably be more casualties among the online players who have big start-up costs (all that technology and marketing).

I've always preferred traditional agents - at least you don't pay until the sale is completed - and they have an incentive to get a better price. When we sold our last place we got full asking price which was a good £10,000 more than we expected. Worth the commission!

Online Estate agents vs Traditional - what's the difference?

Further to the theme of false reviews, etc., a couple of years back, one of the more prominent online players (not mentioned here yet) was posting quotes from supposedly satisfied customers on the front page of their website, and including the street names of the properties.

However, one of the street names they quoted was not to be found on a printed map for the city concerned, and could not be located with google maps, Apple maps, nor a google search. Totally fictional.

I get the impression that at the local level, PB Local Property Experts are trying to turn themselves into proper estate agencies.

I've seen more than one recruitment advert where a group of LPEs appear to be recruiting admin staff and taking out office space to give them a centre of local operation, and day-to-day support that they don't get from a centralised nationwide office.

There are probably still too many EA`s for a stalled market?
