Parking Ticket Lidl. Clapham.

I wish to appeal my parking ticket, from Lidl, Clapham. London.
Last week my van was parked for 1hr. 10 min. I had a friend who shopped in the store, but unfortunately did not scan his receipt. This has made me over stay, as Im only allowed 10min, with scaling the receipt.
Also I did not see the restriction notifying 10min max stay.
Please, can you give me advice on how to appeal this.
At this moment I have done nothing, I will only appeal after Iv received the correct info.

It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.

All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Please Lidl use Anthea. I have looked at their Appeal page, and it asks for Drivers name, and address. How do I start the Apeal without filling in drivers name and address on the Appeal form.

yes you appeal as keeper but this will be refused so it just a paper excercise

the best option is a complaint to the LIDL CEO by email

I went to Lidl site, and sent mail to the contact address. I stated my problem and asked them to cancel. I wonder if the normal contact form will get in front the correct person. How would I get direct address Lidl CEO ?
Also on the Apeal form it states ,Please Enter Drivers name ( If different from registers keeper )
    Then address.
Would I put my name where they say, and put registers keeper in brackets. I am the registered keeper, I need put a name in this appeal form

try leaving it blank if you can because you are appealing as keeper

you can get the CEO email address by reading dozens of other LIDL threads on here, or try that website or app that lists all the CEO email addresses, or google

ceoZemail is the usual one (but remove the Z)
  • It is Lidl who are the scammers, not Athena. Lidl sold their car parking rights to Athena to profit from their own unwitting customers.

Their punitive parking policy it intentional and designed to profit from innocent shoppers, many of whom shop at Lidl precisely because they cannot afford to shop elsewhere. Expecting such people to then pay up to £90 for overstaying their brief welcome in their car park is nothing short of cruel.

The only thing that will persuade Lidl to change its avaricious and bullying parking policy is to not shop at Lidl.

^^ +1 ^^. For a new poster, absolutely on the nail, other than whether Lidl have 'sold the parking rights to Athena'. It seems that the perceived wisdom is that Lidl pocket the bulk of the PCN, then pay Athena an agreed (smaller) management contribution for their actions in keeping Lidl at arms' length from being seen to penalise their very own customers for making simple human errors.

But who knows what goes on in the annals of this exceedingly dark and pernicious industry, and just exactly who have their snouts in the trough of plenty!
