Morning all, damp and miserable here. I have to go to the dentist this morning but hopefully just a checkup and hygienist appointment hoping that he won't find anything much. Mostly he doesn't, I have not sensed any problems so fingers crossed. Then a bit more Christmas shopping.
Nothing much else happening here.
Thinking I'd silver-oldie and suffolksue and sending positive thoughts for those who are sad, worried or just generally fed up.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning
nanny sorry for my awol ...I have been a bit meh about posting same old same old but Ive had a word with myself and I'm back. thanks for caring :lovethoug
silver_oldieMany thoughts with you this must always be a difficult time of year
SRHave a good trip
truI could kill a plastic flower so its rare I plant anything although my baskets (courtesy of Morrisons) and my pots (courtesy of my bestie who planted them up when I was in hospital) were spectacular this year so the rule for me is delegation.
No site work today but lots of paperwork to do from home. I have been sleeping much better this week after making some changes to my routine. Now going to bed a bit later and along with some lifestyle changes it seems to be doing the trick.
Mum day yesterday and we went back to her favourite pub for lunch which had been shut for refurb. Well they have made a fantastic job of the decor but everything else was awful. An hour and a half wait for food which was laughable as I had ordered a beef sandwich. Oh the agony hearing the same question from mum over and over for hours...Anyway it arrived looking remarkably like cheese where upon they told me the beef had run out on Sunday. Cheese it is then :mad:It was also served on two slices of white Warburtons instead of the usual crusty bread. On top of that they haven't changed the menu but boy have they changed the prices. They had put a fiver on mums salmon dish making it 16 quid...far too much for lunch prices and 9.95 for my cheese butty. So its back on the quest to find somewhere for lunch....just wish she liked maccy Ds then I could get it over with quicker
Right best crack on the day awaits0 -
Morning folks. Much less cold today. No frost but it's dark and miserable looking out there.
A nice evening with my friends yesterday but spoilt by a large group of people (about 15/16 of them) having some sort of celebratory meal. Probably an early Xmas affair. Such loud talking and raucous laughter meant we couldn't hear ourselves speak. Very annoying, so after our meal we moved on to a nearby pub where it was quiet and peaceful and we could have a good old natter.
Not a lot planned for today just a day of pottering I think. I wish I could summon up a bit of Christmas spirit but it's going to be difficult. I still feel bereft and Christmas will be an emotional time for me. Be glad when it's over to be honest.
DD is having a lovely time In Munich and pics she WhatsApped of their hotel and places they have visited had me green with envy.
After my childfree day yesterday eldest DGD is back with me after school and the performers after rehearsals this evening.
SNOOZER I'm sorry to hear Steve's news wasn't good. Believe me I know what it's like living from one result to another, GERS I'm another thinking of moving to Scotland with the wonderful care the elderly and sick get.((HUGS)) to everybody in need/want of them and take care all xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone,
Quick check in for me as I'm running a bit late this morning.
Last night I spent much of the evening ticking off my to do list which included phoning both councils to tell them about my council tax issues, sorting my contents insurance for my new gaff, speaking to sky about my higher than expected bill and sending images to my landlord of what appears to be damp in my spare room.
Productive.
I think I'll aim for much of the same again today/tonight. I need to make a few calls this afternoon and make some appointments (dentists etc). I've got football training tonight with my new team, 9pm-10pm, so I skipped the gym this morning.
Dumpling - Glad to hear that things are improving with your legs. Was it irritable legs you had? My mum has recently self diagnosed herself with them and is finding it really hard to deal with them at night.
Scarlet - Enjoy your trip. Safe travels.
Gers- Great news the GP took some time to be thorough. It gives everyone peace of mind.
Snoozer - Hope you feel a bit more like yourself later. Isn't it a good sign if he's now feeling a bit more fitter?
Taff & Ollie - Thanks for the insight yesterday.0 -
Thank you all for the welcome
Today is a quiet day ,so really must do some housework ,think a list is needed !
Then I will try and get DH out to the garden centre to look for a few things .
His Parkinson's is progressing quickly ( he has a particularly nasty form) so it can be difficult.
Dinner tonight will be some of the lo chicken from my Aldi half price bargain yesterday in a homemade curry sauce from the freezer .
Have a good day all ,hope tte weather dries up soon (think I'm quite near Lainey .0 -
Good morning everyone, thanks for the Christmas song tru, very cheery.
SO, thinking of you and also sorry to read about your DH snoozer. My brother's wife has another disorder which is progressing further and faster despite quite aggressive treatment. Sending hugs, it's hard on everyone. Hugs for Poppy too, and everyone else in need of encouragement.
My friend had a fall and wasn't fit for yoga last night, so I did some stretches at home instead of venturing out into the cold and the dark. If she's not fit enough for the last session next week we'll call a halt and start again in January in the New location.
Today I'm being taken out for lunch, a thank you for something I did, very nice! The place we're going has gluten and dairy free options to suit, and I never have more than a main course these days. My companion will have a pud, though, and be able to cope with it fine.
I bottomed out the flat yesterday and just have the bathroom to freshen up. Late afternoon a couple of friends are coming for afternoon tea, one lives in Rome and is back home for a short visit settling her mother's affairs. So it'll be good to catch up before she leaves again next week.
Gers, what great service from your mother's doctor. That's very reassuring for you. It's so much better to be looked after at home, less risk of hospital acquired infection and better for morale. Where it becomes tricky is the carer's burden, and what happens when there are no close family members.
I need to do a quick shop this morning, but will probably have time to do some knitting before the lunch outing.
I hope you have the best day possible, everyone. xxx0 -
Morning very wet here today and dark hope it improves. Fat club this morning. Work at lunch then home and I plan on getting a book out and reading until it’s time to pick dd up from school.0

Morning all I've been tardy posting on here.
A washing load is on, popping out to get DH a flu jab. A quick stop in to the new local Aldi and then we will get more christmas decorations up.
We are popping out this afternoon to see some friends.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially all those of you struggling with various illness's. I know what its like.
Well after yesterdays sun its piddling down, very grey and so dark I have the lights on.
Coffee at the little chapel, we will only be going for the hour, have had notification of two deliveries, both by DPD, coming this morning and a further one for OH, no idea when its coming.
I finished one runner yesterday and it has been delivered, so now on the mats and large runner, I want to have them packed and ready for posting next Tuesday. When its dark like today I have a job hand sewing especially when using thread thats a good match to the fabric. I have ordered a support for my left wrist, it is getting worse.
Made a decision we are going to eat smaller meals, I did toad in the hole last night in the Remoska, it was massive......so I am going to do a tray of small yorkies and we will have 2 each with the sausage. We never have potato when we have TITH just the usual veg.
Tonight its smoked haddock, poached egg and bread and butter, the last of the fruit in jelly for dessert.
Bad night again last night it was 2am before the light went out.0 -
Morning all,
Its still raining here and was so dark this morning- I didnt take the hound out until after 9,she doesnt like walking in the dark
.Picking DGS up later will have to take the big brolly.
I moved some wood into the house yesterday so I could get the log burner going. Then I did the ironing ta-da!! so all clear now.I know some of you dont but I do like certain things done.If I'm quick enough to take it out of the TD I can get away without doing it,but its upstairs so I forget
Nelski- £9.95 for a cheese butty! Nearly choked over my coffee then
Snoozer- sending you big hugs x
TA - I can quite understand why you want Xmas over and done with,it seems pointless when you've lost a loved one.
Right I'd better get on with a few more jobs or it'll be time to pick DGS up before I know it,DS is picking DGD up and they want to 'help' me decorate the tree :rotfl:
Have the best day you can xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
