I should add the £5 onto the target debt payment really which has had to come down to reflect the change in the budget. Good point there is no point in having a surplus in my account !

Thanks for your kind comments littleangels3.

I've just flicked back through my diary, its funny how odd it seems a few months down the line! It doesn't feel amazing to me just our efforts to come back from the brink which we were very firmly stepping over :o .

People on here are so understanding and helpful I find in incredibly motivating particularly when I get a bit down about things (which we all do at times).

  • Just had a very cheap and fun DFD with the children. The sun is not shinnning but its also not raining so lets pretend its summer!
    • Took the children to the Park this am and met a few friends so a lovely time had by all
    • Took the children to the library to change their books. Found out that the DVD story CD's are FOC so rather than me saying no (since I had no money in my purse) they all chose a CD and are happy ;)
    • Took the children out of a bike ride this pm. For the youngest DS (4 years) I've just got hold of a trailer bike (from a friend) and he was delighted at pedaling along and the other two had fun!
The only spend was a £5 in tesco for some bits I needed and some fruit which was on offer.

Cheap and fun day all round.

I'm think tomorrow may need to be school uniform/shopping day which won't be cheap. I need the following for them all after a massive sort through at the weekend:
    • school tracksuit for DD
    • Black school trousers and skirt for DD
    • Trainers and school shoes for DS1
    • Red sports socks for DD
    • PE shorts for DS1
    • Trainers for DS2
    • School tie for both DS's (eldest has worn his out  and youngest will need his for Jan when he starts school)
    • School jumper for DS1 (bought and paid for :p just needs collecting before they go back to school)
    • Set of school shirts for DS2 for Jan (again I didn't keep DS1's since he wrecked them)
My clothes budget of £15pm will be well and truly blown out of the window with this lot.....definately not a NSD or even a cheap day!

I need to get ebaying like mad to clear this lot :p

  • I'm am sort of in shock.

Due to the foul weather I decided that today was the shopping day of the school holidays.......I approached this with trepidation knowing that our clothes budget is only £15 pm and there was nothing in the pot due to the purchase of my DD's secondary school uniform in June so I got the following:

Black tracksuit for DD for school
    School tights for DD
    Black school skirt for DD
    Trainers for DS1
    Trainers for DS2

This little lot cost £84

Its bits they need and stuff that I couldn't really avoid. I guess after nearly a year of living a DF life it comes hard spending cash even when you need too.

I guess I'm not really shocked since I knew that it wasn't going to come in under or even on budget but its the knowledge that any extra money which comes in will have to pay this off before it hits the debt
