Just updated my totals for the month. Debt reduced by £16.6K:j
Progress although not all the holiday overspend has come through yet so I expect the totals to stay static next month.
We're out of the mortgage holiday now which is good - since we didn't really like taking the holiday - but bad since our debt reduction per month will drop now. By my calculations we should reduced the debt by £1200 per month until January when our income will increase due to no nursery fees and my income increasing significantly.
Back of envelope cals - well spreadsheet - means we should be on track to be sub £30k by the end of the year. That will mean we'll have paid off a whopping £22k since our LBM. Target for 2009 to pay off the remaining £30k by our DFD in November. Sounds challenging, and it will be I have no doubt
Seeing the news yesterday ref the hike in Gas Prices I was so pleased that I took Martins advice and switched to a fixed price deal with SP. :T . Just checked Quidco and the £75 for switching has now tracked so I've just pulled £122 down to throw at the target debt - hurray!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Thanks Hypno - your totals are FAB as well.
I've just worked that that standard debt repayments next year allowing for the extra income and the loans being paid will pay off £23.5k by 11/09. So thats £6.5 to find. Sounds such a huge amount but fingers crossed my OH will get a bonus (I don't factor these in since they're not gaurenteed) and ebay, amazon, green metrolpolis, mystery shopping, matched betting - when I've have the head space to understand it
), selling the dog (although 'stud' fee's are possible he's a pedigree:rotfl: ) - will bring the date a month or so closer.
We've so got to go for it.
OH and i are out tomorrow night. A very rare treat since we've not been out for ages together. For the first time he actually asked me if we could afford it, he is so onboard with this now.
Its funny this whole process has really changed us for the better.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Well my aim is to pay off my £50+k by April 2010.......so I will be with you every step of the way!
We have adopted the MSE lifestyle throughout as well over the last year and a half.....it took a while to get into it properly, but I think we are getting there. Next week we are lucky enough to get a mystery shop which includes a meal and drinks for 2 at a local restaurant..........quite looking forward to that one

Thats so good. I only seem to get Bank type MS's. Mind you I get paid for paying in money to my account or withdrawing it, got to smile.
Sounds like you've got a real challenge as well with the £50K. I'm sure you'll do it!:cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
