Windows 7 words jumping around

Hi

My husband installed a SSD into my lappy and reset to factory setting - all ok, faster now but as I type the word/s can be deleted but often jump up or down or in between sentences. Looked on google for help but the say disable touchpad but this not do the trick.

Which laptop is it? Does the cursor move when you touch the touchpad? Which version of windows? More info needed

HP, windows 7xp SSD

yes, the cursor moves when touching pad

i have tried to type without touching touchpad but still jumps intermittently.

There should be a Fn Key to turn off the touchpad but HP is vague we would need a model and windows 7xp ?? I would get a mouse and turn off the touchpad , I have problems leaning/sneezing/looking on/at my touchpad:p

If your husband has the technical ability to install a SSD can he not also sort out this problem? Or at least get him post here rather than you, so that we don't get misinformation such as Windows 7xp.

OK turn off the touchpad and use a mouse, problem solved perhaps

Don't want to turn off the touchpad and have no mouse and using the pointer in the centre of the keyboard is massively laborious.

OK then get the person that installed the SSD to check that they have not disturbed the cables for the touchpad/keyboard, we can't check from here:cool:
