  • Notwithstanding the OP's son should have been more careful, a used jacket was torn (not a new one).
    If there was a receipt for £200 available, the OP should have responded to the suggestion already...

    Sorry for the cynicism but my good will departed when it was suggested that the original jacket should be destroyed...

    I fail to understand your logic here, on both points.
    For the people on the thread who said he should have been more careful, perhaps best not to even step outside your own home in that case.

    He probably needs it for insurance purposes, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just buy a new jacket, take the old one in and he'll refund you. If he doesn't refund you then you can take the new jacket back for a refund and you can take things from there.



    It's probably best not to overthink this one.

    And there they were gone - in a cloud of down. Another newbie who didn't get/like the answers to their question - or maybe to another forum to see if the answers there suited them better?
