Armtrac Security Services and BW Legal

Options
Hi,

I received a PCN from Armtrac Security Services in Newlyn, Cornwall earlier on this year. I have just received a letter saying the PCN has been passed on to their legal team BW Legal and court action will follow if I don't pay.

I have been reading the Newbies guide and i'm trying my hardest to follow it.

From what I can understand, now that I am at the stage with the letter from BW Legal I need to request a SAR from Armtrac. I have written the email and have tried to send it to Armtrac using the email addresses they provide and they do not work! Their privacy page lists 2 email addresses to contact the DPO and none of them work (dpo@armtracservices.co.uk and dpo@armtracservices.com)

I get an automated reply saying:

"Your message couldn't be delivered to dpo@armtracservices.co.uk because the remote server is misconfigured. See the technical details below for more information."

I have tried multiple email accounts including GoogleMail and Outlook. None will work so the problem is with them, surprise surprise!!

What should I do? and should I still contact BW Legal saying I have requested a SAR from Armtrac even though the emails to Armtrac aren't sending?

for a start , send it to B W LEGAL and insist that they get the details from their client

perhaps post a SAR to ARMTRAC and get a free proof of posting from the P.O. Counter

and report Armtrac to the ICO for failing to have a proper contact that works, detailing what you have found

    ie:- stir the pot

Have you tried info@armtracservices.co.uk to ask them the correct email address for their DPO?

If that doesn't work a simple phone call - taking care to give nothing away - to 0371 2000 476 will solve the mystery.

It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.

All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thanks for the replies.

I have emailed info@armtracservices.co.uk asking for a working email address to contact the DPO and have emailed BW Legal asking them to put action on hold whilst waiting for the SAR from Armtrac.

You need to do two things: -
    1. Read the NEWBIE thread where all acronyms are explained
    2. Start your own thread
  • Armtrac replied to my email that I sent to info@amtracservices.co.uk

    “Dear Sir,

    The email address is dpo@armtracservices.co.uk

It has come to our attention yesterday that the email system we use has been temporarily unavailable to some people trying to email us at both email address.

Please try again and of course let us know if you have any further issues.

    Kind Regards
    Armtrac Security Services”

I tried to email the address again and it still doesn’t work. Absolutely useless!

Send your SAR list of what you want disclosed, to info@ and tell them to pass it to their DPO (the clerk no doubt sitting in the next desk!) immediately and that if they refuse and their DPO@ email addy still fails by the end of the week you will report them to the ICO for obstructing a consumer's right to a SAR.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I email the info address asking them to pass it on to the DPO and low and behold I got an email from the DPO saying that the DPO email is back up and running and to email the SAR to it.

I sent the SAR to the DPO email and it’s gone through! So have to sit and wait now.

One thing that sprung to mind earlier is that the sign says something along the lines of having to park in the marked bays, but the location I parked is just some muddy wasteland with old metal containers and other rubbish from fishing boats and NO BAYS anywhere. Will this help at all?

    Thank you
