It is very safe. Monzo is a full UK current account protected and regulated by the FSCS.

Looking for a new bank as Santander annoy the hell out of me as I can't see pending payments and the available balance figure is never accurate.I tried Monzo but my application got held up and I haven't heard anything. Probably just go back to Lloyds

If you like Monzo perhaps you'd like Starling

Yes, you might want to look as Starling. It’s very similar but it pays interest rate (only 0.5% but still) and it seems to offer more services overall. Worth checking out

I'm a serial switcher but NatWest, M&S, and worst of all FirstDirect take so long to set up and send you so much paperwork (& rubbish you ain't ever gonna read!).
Signed up to Monzo Saturday night, gave my a/c no etc to someone who 'owed' me on Sunday and received a payment on Monday together with a message on my phone!
Debit card arrived today (Tuesday) and it's so bright it might even glow in the card! Shouldn't lose that on my desk!
    Absolutely fabulous!
