    If they are the same "experts" who said the UK would fall apart straight after any "Leave" vote, or that the UK would never vote to Leave in the first place, or that Trump had no chance of being President etc etc. then no, I`m not too keen on them.

    The official HMRC property report was updated just a few weeks ago and confirms that property transactions have been static for years at around 100,000 "getting on with it" every single month.

    UK Property Transaction Statistics

    In fact rather than your false "Less and less" statement the report confirms that actually transactions increased slightly.
    In October 2018, non-adjusted residential transactions were approximately 13.8% higher than September 2018.
    Year-on-year, non-adjusted residential transactions rose 4.1% in October 2018 compared to October 2017.

    Do you think it's sensible to compare with a peak when we had liar loans and very poor regulation.


    Make a sensible comparison and people might discuss/listen but presenting one side of a biased argument doesn't really help you ase.


    I do however agree that transaction are low, but that doesn't mean we won't get a permanently high plateau as opposed to the crash you hope for.

    Yes, when we are gleefully told by posters here that "Prices are still rising!" and many sellers still think they can get peak prices. Transactions have fallen more in line with reality, prices must follow or there will be permanently low and falling transactions. High and ever higher housing costs were one of the daftest and most damaging experiments ever tried in this country :(

    Sounds a bit like the Japanese soldier who held out for years on an Island after WW2 ended? Very few people care any more, they can see that the higher and higher house price experiment has failed, and that the wider battle - transactions and political/economic climate to support high house prices has been lost :(
