Contacting isn't the same as forcing you to have one.

At present I don't have one and I don't intend having one in the future.
Agreed. Until they actually start installing gen 2 smart meters (SMETS2) I won't be having one and I've told my supplier as much.

I'm with Npower and I don't have a smart meter. They e-mail once a year and ask if I'd like one.

I have no desire to replace a perfectly working meter; the replacement wouldn't save any energy.

Since the descision was made many years ago by refusing you are costing even more becauase you have to be contacted repeatadly as the supplier has to make sure your refusal passes the bar as otherwise they will get fined (and guess what thats going to cost us more too).

But feel free to keep pushing up costs for everyone and
stay on your sub optimal tarrifs. You will end up with a smart meter eventually anway, although not operating in smart mode, because no one is buying other meters and the old stock will eventually stop working.

What do you mean " I have to be contacted repeatedly" I have never been contacted once and send all my readings in online without being asked.
As for pushing up costs, it is my costs that are more as refusing a sm I am not able to have the cheapest tarrif.
