I was a witness in an assault case. One of the other witnesses didn't want to attend when the date was scheduled. They were told if they didn't agreed to go they would be summoned. The victim wanted to withdraw the case and they were also told they would be summoned.

In the end, just as the case was about to go in front of the court, the accused agreed to plead guilty for the lesser sentence.
