I need advice regarding the best insurance company for my thirteen old daughters phone, which I have purchased for Christmas.
Preferably with a low excess fee.
the cost was around £570

PAYG

Bought from Samsung UK.
I am not rich...Her four brothers and hubby have donated money, as she has not had a smart phone for over a year.

Add it to your home insurance?

    Thank you forgotmyname,
I really do not want to add it to my home insurance, never had a claim and want to keep it that way.

Why do you need to spend £570 on a phone if you are not rich?
£150 smartphone can do the job...

Insure S9 is £80 per year

You will be better to go for packaged bank account instead.

I don't think that any insurer would will to insure a phone given to a 13 y.o.
And it would be fraud not to tell them this.

This would be very beautiful act, and you may have a very specific reason to do that for her. However, I also strongly feel the same way as others here.

You might impose her as if she needs to inflated hyper expensive smartphone. She will need to replace her phone in the future (4-5 years time ?) Then you actually would force her to choose the same very expensive smartphone again? Do you expect her to be rich on that time ? If not, this would ruin her financial life.

In the West, we are forced to buy smartphone with a credit (i.e. DEBT) 2 years contract installment (2 years debt contract) So people who don't have money can "afford" hyper expensive smartphone to increase more debt.

(Hope this post is relevant as this is THE money saving site :) )

    My recommendation?

Believe me, last couple of years, the smartphone hardware performance improved massively. It is time to enjoy your smartphone at reasonable price now.

Software (OS) is the key for the user experiences, I am pretty sure Xiami A2 lite will get the latest Android Pie sooner than Samsung S9 with a full of bloatware.
