Hi DAK if you can open one of these again if you have been a previous account holder who switched out ?
I know online applications are currently suspended but wouldn't mind the 5% on a couple accounts for me and my wife once they are up and running

I will throw in a second question, can a couple have 3 accounts between them maximum ?
Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016

You apply and as with any other bank, you're accepted or you're not?

  • AFAIK there's no restriction on having previously held the account, just that you can't hold more than 2 accounts in your own name (1 individual and 1 joint - so you can hold 3 accounts between a couple). Online applications are only suspended due to their IT problems, but you are able to open new accounts in branch

I'd be looking at the thread here before going anywhere near TSB to be quite honest: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5899463

    Lol!

Only using it for the interest! £6.25 a month per account isn’t too be sniffed at :money:

This might be a stupid question but if there’s £1,500 in the account after paying £500 in you get the interest. If the interest makes the balance £1,506.25 and you do the £500 in and out again, as the balance is over £1,500. Will the interest not apply?

Are you sure you want anything to do with TSB after the fiasco earlier this year?

I agree. What's not to like about this? I too, have just opened a new account.

But to be fair with the best easy access account at 1.50% the true extra rate is 3.39% gross (4.89% - 1.50%) so for a 31 day month extra interest will be £4.32 (£6.23 - £1.91).

As regards your question, monthly interest will be paid on up to £1,500 even if you balance is greater so it is best to transfer the interest out.

If only it was earlier this year, I've been locked out of my account since April.
