TalkTalk Broadband

Hello,
A couple of days ago, I signed up for TalkTalk's Black Friday Fibre Optic broadband package. It cost £19.95/mnth, as opposed to £25/mnth which Sky were offering me. However, after signing up, I quickly googled reviews for TalkTalk broadband and I read an awful lot of stories about the internet constantly breaking down, not working for days, with a customer service that seemed to give no help.
Does anyone on here use, or have used, TalkTalk broadband? And if so, should I stay with them?
Thanks, enjoy your christmas holidays!

I have in the past. There were no particular issues with the broadband. If everything is fine then you won't have any problems as you won't have to contact customer services. This is true of any ISP. Remember that only people with problems tend to comment on the service. There will be many more people who don't have any issue and don't comment publicly.
That being said I would hesitate to use them due to their handling of their data breach a few years ago. I was affected.0 -
We have had TT for years.
A few issues but generally OK.0 -
Been with TT since they bought out Tiscali - no problems caused by TT themselves...BTOR are another matter, though
However, just to qualify that, if you're a techie and can troubleshoot yourself and tell TT what's wrong for when they have to deal with OR if needs be, it's a lot easier......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Decide who you want to go with then look at their reviews .
Most of the network from your exchange is the same as SKY use . Something like 80% of faults are user not ISP .
If you want a high level of customer support then you need to pay a higher price.0 -
TT are fine until you have issues then you will find CS is useless.
Also they have let personal details be stolen twice so far, maybe it will be yours next if they have third breach.
Just avoid.0 -
Totally agree with Inner Zone!
We had almost a month of no connection.
TT blamed Openreach...Openreach couldn’t find a problem.
Thankfully a perceptive Openreach engineer realised that our problem was to do with the router which wasn’t synching with something it was supposed to.
Two TT engineers had failed to identify the issue which they should have.
Customer Services didn’t contact us when they said they would and we had issues understanding them when they did.
Since this was sorted we have had no problems and we hope that this remains the case!0 -
they were fine till we had issues then they were awful. We were left 3 weeks without broadband. Passed from customer services in India to Manilla to South Africa. Customer service is shocking0

Hello everyone.
I called up Sky and told them that TalkTalk would offer me fibre optic broadband for £19.99/month. In response, Sky offered me the same deal, with slightly faster broadband, for £20/month and the first month free!
Thanks for everyone's help!0 -
We have been with TT for years, yes their CS is in India but they are cheap and if you think other broadband suppliers do not have any problems go to the Phone/Brodband/Mobile board and look them up.
Plus do not forget that some of the BB suppliers still use Openreach equipment so that is another avenue for problembs to develope0 -
I would like a technically competent person to answer this question.
I have been offered a fibre optic broadband deal by TT.
I live in a flat and can see the BT copper cable coming to my flat.
How is it possible to purchase an effective fibre optic service with a long copper wire being the last stage of connection?0
