Simple google will answer that to some degree. But sellers who have a good product that sells well is unlikely to want to tell you so you can undercut them
You can sell unique items with a decent profit margin, so you only need to sell a couple of items.
Or you can sell a lot of cheaper items with a small profit on each.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If you're doing single low value items work out the postage before you buy. Certain items aren't worth selling as the postage will cost you more than the item is worth no matter what a good deal it is. Also try and avoid breakables and second hand things that run on electric or battery..0 -
I have sold my homing pigeon 17 times on ebay this year , it seems be giving me a steady income0

Sounds unlikely but have a hunt around for shoes in reasonable condition that you don't wear anymore. I've just sold quite a few pairs of old shoes - from £2 (disappointing) to £33 (ecstatically happy) - ask family if they don't mind rooting out a few pairs.
The other thing that sold really well is old games consoles. Nintendo, Sega And PlayStation. I thought they were pretty much junk and nearly accepted an offer of £150 for the lot, but raised a healthy £450 towards Christmas so far and still have some to sell.

There is a whole different market for used shoes...perhaps one not suited to the OP.
My advice is to research and be sure what you sell is something you really have the understanding of your market.0 -

There is no simple answer- you need to find something that you understand, say video games, trawl through the completed listings on ebay, see what sells and what doesn't and then look for them in charity shops.
I started with sci fi and cult items over 20 years ago as that was my interest but now I sell whatever I see makes a profit, I watch completed listings in lots of categories and watch for trends and movements. Don't forget as well that buying to resell makes you a business so you need a business account on ebay - so no free listings, and you need to offer returns - all that has to be factored in to your bottom line.
Spend an hour or two a day browsing completed items on ebay, choose a category at random- clocks, hats - whatever, see what sells. Then work out how much cost was involved taking into account ebay and paypal fees and postage - that's a good way to start.
Follow some big sellers that sell across lots of categories, what are they listing, what are they selling? Finding something to sell is the hardest part of running a successful ebay business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. All the above but it works best if you sell something you know a lot about.
It could be fashion items, video games, toy cars, hi-fi equipment etc. One person I know makes a nice bit of extra cash selling used golf clubs - but he used to be a golf pro. Another guy buys and sells guitars, amps, musical instruments in general but he's been in a band for 30 years or so.
It's 100x easier if you have a good knowledge of an area without trying to go in blind.0 -
I know of someone (not me) who does well with clothes they buy from boot sales and charity shops.
Look for good labels and check the condition carefully. Don't just rely on the size label but put all measurements into the listings. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
