Bought new flat, boiler broken and other minor issues

Ah, the forum style that changed in April 2015, over 3.5yrs ago, for everybody unless they explicitly requested the old one be kept for their account?0

5 years old is relatively new for a boiler - if it has been serviced/ fixed by a registered gas engineer I really wouldn’t worry about it exploding. I always use British Gas - a bit more expensive but always gives you peace of mind.
As for the snagging, does this count as a new build? Ie was the whole building renovated or just your flat, only reason I ask is that I have seen really old buildings renovated as individual flats and sold under HTB with the standard 10 year warranty despite the fact the building fabric looks like it’s about to crumble....
If there’s no warranty ie you bought it as a standard flat that had just been done up then you don’t really have any comeback. You buy property as-is and should have paid more attention to thing like doors not closing properly when you viewed.
Not to mention buyer if worried about the boiler, should have done a boiler check"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

A 5 yr old boiler could be anything from a quarter to half way through its life. Servicing a boiler is not like servicing a car, a recent boiler service (if carried out properly) should see any problem sorted out. You do not need a "full service history"If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
