Samsung S6 problem

I went to use my mobile about an hour ago and was greeted by a green/blue page with a large box on it with an arrow pointing down. Underneath it says:

Downloading...
Do not turn off target

I haven’t seen this before and it hadn’t been used for about three hours.

I’ve tried to turn off by pressing volume and off buttons together but nothing has happened.
Can anyone shed any light on what is happening/happened please?
I haven’t had any problems at all before.

Thank you everyone. We tried pressing the three buttons down but it took about 20 minutes to eventually succeed. Yes I noticed from google it seems to be a common problem. After having Samsung phones for 8 years this is the first time this has been encountered!
