County Court letter from a UKPC fine

Hi, I'm new to the forum.
Long story short. UKPC has issued me 4/5 fines over the past year which I have taken advice in not to pay them and ignore the letters...Which now I've realised is old advice and I should of appealed as I most likely would of been successful. Today I have had County Court issuing me a substantial amount to pay.
I just need expert advice on this and cut to the point. Can I fight this and win or am I doomed and have to pay...which i really don't want to do I'm a student and I will really suffer if I have to pay this amount right now.
If I can win, can someone please help me and direct me in what I need to do in the simplest form. I have read in places you can win or some say no you can't but its all complicated.
All help would greatly appreciated.

These are not fines.
Under what circumstances were you issued a parking charge notice(s)
Who's car park, and why?
Secondly take a good look at the sticky thread, but please answer the why where and how questionFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Yes, charges my bad.
I received the charges at Brunel University for parking without permit. The total amount they're claiming is £1090.
And I will look at the sticky thread and post any questions i have here.0 -
I have just completed the MCOL form. Would my next step be to send a part 18 request to UKPC? Or should I start putting my defence together?0
-
you should NOT be completing any MCOL form
you are advised to follow the NEWBIES sticky thread, post #2 and do the AOS online, leaving the defence box untouched (see the walkthrough)
post your DATE OF ISSUE and full POC details plus charges breakdown below
send the PPC DPO an SAR using GDPR, to get all their evidence
then start to draft your defence and post the draft below, for critique0 -
Hi @Redx, what I meant to say was I completed the AOS online, I haven't touched the defence yet.
The date of issue is 30/11/18
There is a total of 6 charges of £160.00 for 'Parking without paying the required parking tariff'. This totals to £960. The dates of the charges are 19/04/16 , 09/10/17, 11/12/17, 18/01/18 , 21/02/18 and 13/03/18.
I'm sorry but I don't know what PPC DPO SAR and GDPR stand for, could you please clarify.
I am going to start my defence very soon and will post drafts. Are there any similar cases you could refer me to?
Thanks for your help0 -
most acronyms are in post #5 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, saves us repeating ourselves
DPO = Data Protection Officer , the person who deals with DPA issues , this is now incorporated into the GDPR (google it) and SAR is a feature of that new law
there are plenty of cases linked in post #2 of that same thread
more reading & research required please0 -
Next we need to see your draft defence, so read the NEWBIES thread.
And why not 'advanced' search this forum for the word BRUNEL to read the other wins?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

With a Claim Issue Date of 30th November, and having done the Acknowledgement of Service in a timely manner, you now have until 4pm on Wednesday 2nd January 2019 to file your Defence. The date of issue is 30/11/18
That's over a month away. Loads of time to produce a perfect Defence, but don't leave it to the very last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive a copy of the Claimant's DQ, they are just trying to put you under pressure.
- Wait for your Directions Questionnaire from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
0 - Sign it and date it.
