Happy Anniversary to Dumpling and Steve :heartpuls
  • Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread silver-oldie. The suggestion of taking a book is a brilliant one.

Tru, thank you for the carol. I enjoyed the Christmas Chronicles too.

    Happy anniversary Dumpling and Steve!

After a decent day yesterday, it is wet again. I did lots of washing yesterday and the rest can wait. The house is as tidy as it is going to get, other than cleaning tge bathroom handbasin again - it was all sparkly and then OH had a shave. He does seem to have made an attempt at rinsing away his shaving mess but cannot have been wearing his specs (I am being charitable here)

I made myself a hat from some nice Rowan wool, have enough for a second in another colour, will do that later. I seem to mislay hats and gloves regularly so may do some gloves if there is enough.
Then I want to make a reindeer for fun.

Hope everyone has asgood a day as possible.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Morning all

Thanks for the thread Dumpling and hugs to all those in need.
So nice to see tru's songs.
Opticians appointment for CHS this morning and a small shopping trip.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Happy anniversary to Dumpling and Steve.

After yesterdays nice day we now have grey skies again, very depressing.

A bad night, I fell asleep on the settee, OH woke me for our night time drink and by the time I went to bed I was wide awake again, we were drinking tea at 2am.

My replacement Vax steam mop arrived just after 9am this morning, I have a complete new mop, so a set of spares.........

Place mats got their backing yesterday just have to back the last runner and put the binding on, then a marathon sew in to sew down the binding. Sewing machine side is being mothballed whilst I play with the embroidery bit for a while.

OH is doing his exercises, he is taking paracetamol just now one of the movements has set his neck off again, so he has a headache.

I have my appointment for my scan, Leicester RI January 11th at 11am. At least I have not got to go charging in for an early appointment. I will get the results in due course. Then I will know the worst.

Nothing planned except the mats etc, might get a couple bound so I can sit and hand sew the binding down tonight. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey......

All day breakfast for supper tonight........not sure about dessert yet, might do rasps in jelly. I gave in a bought frozen rasps from Aldi. Breakfast fruit and pork out of the freezer for tomorrow. I have a half container of summer fruit in the freezer might use those instead with a few rasps.

    Morning all!
Bought myself a Thorntons advent calendar, and the first offering was a vanilla truffle. Yum with black coffee [which no longer tastes completely of mud! Huzzah! [ Yes, I am planning to use up the worlds supply of typed exclamation marks today! - Qwesta!!!! Maledettaa!!!]
The food yesterday was really really nice, pork gyros wth tsatziki, nom.
Today I am going out again [ooo, three times this week!] to a friends for Christmas drinks and I'm planning on making some sausage and black pudding rolls, along with a spinach and cheese twisted twist thing in the shape of a christmas tree....
OH has told me he will get a tree when I tell him to , which is a wonder because he doesn't like christmas usually, but I think its a keeping me happy kind of thing....Must tidy the house first though.
Am still thinking on what job I can do when this is over with. I need to do something either practicla and crafty or practical or crafty.

Jackie, what a siren you are! I'm well impressed! Poppy, will watch it tomorrow to see his culinary moves...Speky, enjoy your family weekend, see? what a nice surprise that she phoned you back :) Mrs SD, trampy as in homeless, I think the only thing I could attract at the moment is another hairless exhausted slug...Briliant idea Nelski, SO, and yes, you still have to phone to tell them of changes....OL, maybe getting out will be good, but you don't have to go shopping, have tea and cake somewhere with a good book. csarina, happy sewing :)
Have fun all, it's a beautiful day [not literally, it's wet and cold and windy] but have a good one if you can manage it

    Morning all

Pouring with rain here I have a wash load on the go which will have to go on the airer in the lounge with the log burner on it pretty much dried overnight with just a quick blast in the td the next day.

House is lovely and tidy so not much to do, dd and I will go shopping and maybe a quick look around town afterwards I think a nap or a film this afternoon would fit in nicely and then a nice dinner with wine tonight.

Its OH Birthday tomorrow so will get something nice to cook for then as well.

    Dumpling Happy Anniversary xx

    Morning campers
    Another grey, damp day here.
I didn't have a good night as I was shivering and aching. As I was keeping Mr Fix It awake, I de-camped to the sofa with a sleeping bag and pillows and then finally fell asleep about 4am. Good job nothing untoward happened last night as I was dressed not to impress, I had about 4 layers on, including bed socks and my dressing gown . I feel a bit better this morning but I still can't get warm so I have the heating on. I will take advantage of the heating and do some washing, although there wasn't much in the basket until Mr Fix It missed his footing and slid on his "as.....k your mother for sixpence" in the mud in the garden :rotfl:.

My tasks today are to clean the kitchen and have a general tidy round. Later on I need to sort out our Xmas menu and make a list. Oooo I love a list :j. Tea tonight will be bacon and egg etc.
Tru thank you for the first carol of the season :xmassmile. I'm looking forward to more :T
Silver Oldie have a hug full of strength, for today with your Mum.
Dumpling Happy Anniversary to you and Steve, enjoy your day :kisses2:
-taff come on over and help Mr Fix it if you're feeling twitchy about not having a project to do :D
NMLC glad everything went off ok yesterday. Funny you should mention a butterfly, as when it was my DM funeral I found one in our bedroom and that was in a February.

Have a good Saturday everyone, if you can.
Healing vibes to the poorly people and hugs to all.
    Take care

    nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
  • Afternoon all. I am late to the party today. The date reminded me that Christmas is not far away and I am dreading it - the first on my own. DD is including me in all their plans and I don't feel the least bit festive.

I haven't had the heart to make a start on any Xmas shopping and today I thought I had better don my big girls knickers and get on with it. I went down town early before I changed my mind. I got cards for the family and closest rellies and b***er everyone else. Presents for the young great nephews and nieces and gift envelopes to stuff money in for the older kids I usually buy a present for. I am thinking food hampers and the like for adults and will browse M & S website in a bit. The DGDs are a problem as they don't even know what they want themselves so what chance have I in finding them something?! DD and DS just say not to even bother thinking about them but they have both been so good during these last traumatic months that I would like to get them something special. But what?

I have suddenly accumulated a big ironing pile so that is on the agenda as my next job, but first another coffee. And maybe one of the yummy choccy biscuits that leapt into my hands this morning.

Happy anniversary DUMPLING and STEVE. SILVER-OLDIE I hope Nelski's cunning plan worked and you managed to teach your DM that two can play that game! POPPY I narrowed it down to Dave when he said his dad had passed away 2 years ago and you had just said that in one of your posts. (Sherlock or what!!)

Enjoy the rest of the day folks and take care. ((HUGS)) as always for the sad, worried, poorly, lonely or just plain fed up xxx
