True, but from experience users will often want to move into new stuff once then get a new machine, photos, dvd;s etc. And for the £100ish it might save then in my opinion tisn't worth it!

i agree, if they think they may want to do more with it in the future then forget about looking for a £300 and as they would probably have to give any money left back they might as well spend the whole lot.

Both of those are celeron processors! No where near as good as the Intel Dual Core the Samsung comes with!!!! Gotta think long term when buying a machine as time goes buy, more stuff gets installed and Windows Service PAcks and you the machine gets slower! Imo start off with the best CPU you can afford!

Plus the desktop has 512k memory! I have xp machines struggling on that! Vista needs 1GB VERY minimum and 2GB ideally.

Thanks for your comments, I was also drawn to this because of the free 3 year warranty which give you a bit more peace of mind.

Im getting the money from my parents upto £500, so i cant really get one for £300 and keep the other 200 if you see what i mean, so im trying to get the best i can with all or most of the money

a 3 year warranty is a good thing, especially for laptops.

    Hi all,

I bought it in the end, and then spent 5 hours trying to get the wireless working, it works fine with the yellow cable supplied by sky!

I have a normal sky issued router and have done nothing to it (like flashing), The laptop locates my router, but when i tried connecting with both security on and off (on the router and firewalls off) I keep getting a message saying something like "windows did not get a response from your network or access point"

The router defiantly works as i use it wirelessly for both my PS3 and Wii!

Any suggestions would be welcome, im returning it tonight for an exchange in case its the wireless network card.
