Fraudulent Injury Claims - HELP PLEASE
Hi guys,
I was recently involved in a car accident, was travelling down a main road and another car had pulled out of a give way junction without giving way to me and the front end of my car hit the front right side of her car. I'm only 19, have been passed/driving since I was 17 and have never been involved in any car accident incident until now. My insurance company did say they had enough evidence to prove she was liable for the accident after reveiwing the CCTV footage however stated that it would take a while for her insurance company to review it.
I told my insurance the night it happened, the next morning my insurance said they were going to ring her asking her to admit liability etc. They then rang me back stating that the other party was then saying that I turned into the side street whilst she was stationary at the give way junction (this isn't the worst of it btw), I was so shocked when she started lying, and it must take a really bad driver to hit someone whilst turning in espeically considering the side street with the give way junction was really wide too.
I did manage to get CCTV footage which does show a glimpse of what happened and you can tell that my car is still on the main road when the collision occured. My insurance is then saying that their insurance company hasn't reviewed the footage etc. And it may take a while for them to admit liabilty.
Now for the worst part. 3 weeks later, I recieved a phone call saying that there were 5 injury claims against me!! This doesn't make sense because there was only one person in the car that hit me and it was the female who pulled out of the give way junction. My heart started racing when the person on the phone said there were 5 injury claims against me, this is the first accident I've ever had and the fact that the other party was lying so much scared me. I saw her with my own eyes and there was no one else in the car, my friend who was in the car with me saw her as well with no one else in the car except her.
However, the CCTV footage that I retrieved does show us both parking up, and it shows her exiting her car, and she exits by herself and she even locks her car after exiting it with no one else coming out. Surely, if you claim to have a full car, another person would've come out other than the driver. Me and my friend were in my car when the incident happened and you can see in the CCTV that he exits the car before me to look at the damage done. I'm just hoping this CCTV footage backs up my point, it only shot 10 seconds before ending of her coming out but I think that should be enough considering she even locks her car as the lights flash of her car in the footage.
I'm just really worried, it's just fraud considering she was the only one in the car, I saw it, my friend saw it, and now I hope the CCTV just backs up my point.
Any advice?

Just give it to your insurance to deal with. Their problem.0

It should also be pretty obvious from the damage who was moving. If you'd turned into her the damage would be on your right hand side. If she pulled into you it'd be on your left.
But as said, pass it on to your insurance company and assert that there was only 1 occupant of the car so this looks fraudulent. They should then be able to handle it appropriately.0 -
This is exactly why you pay all that money to the insurance company. As above, let them sort it, it's their job.0

Thanks for your reply, and there is more damage to the left side of my car as you stated, the left fog light grille has smashed my front number plate is bent from the left side and the left side of my front bumper lower lip has been bent too. My insurance company did say they can see from the cctv and images I sent them of my car and her car that my story was making a lot more sense.
Buying a dashcam straight after the car gets repaired, and my dad told me to just start recording them on your phone at the scene of an accident if you feel they might lie later on about passengers or witnesses etc.0 -
Good avice from your Dad, and a good choice to fit a dashcam.
I feel your anger, I had some guy crash into me by trying to exit a roundabout from the right hand lane, he drove straight into my front offisde wing.
Sadly in my case, there was no CCTV and despite all the people who saw it, they all drove off (angry with them too).
The fool who hit me lied and said I drove into him.
Insurers really can't be bothered, if it is one word against the other, no matter how ridiculous, they simply find both drivers at fault so you share the blame (and incur increased premiums)
I really hope the CCTV is enough for you but please don't think just because you pay your Insurers a lot of money they will go out of their way to support you.0 -

Good advice in general. You want as much documentary evidence of the situation as you can - who the passengers are/were, where the vehicles were (though not as much so if you've had to move them), and what visible damage there is.0 -
Don t worry, similar thing happened to my wife and our insurance sorted it all out.
When the other driver realises their personal injury claim is being taken out against themselves, they do start to see sense.
Let your insurance company deal with it all.0
