Kirsty's homemade Christmas

I do like these once a year specials that she does. I think you have to just enjoy the moment and just treat it as a bit of escapism from the frantic ' real life'.0

I quite enjoyed last night's episode when I caught up in the early hours!
Not a single thing I would replicate, but tips (hanging points on garlands and re-enforcing the rear of edible hanging Christmas decorations) were noted. And I did think she did a very good job on the reindeers.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I'm catching up with this, I don't have a TV. Bits of it are interesting to me but mostly isn't. I wouldn't try and replicate any of the crafts, but there are some good ideas to pick up.
I found a video on you tube, a crafter applied to go on the show, was shortlisted to the last nine, they wanted four people. Her hopes were built up, she thought she had a chance of being selected. She wasn't and they didn't even tell her. Hopes dashed, big disappointment. That's what they do, I felt sorry for her, it's happened to me in the past with various shows. You put a lot of time and effort into it, then nothing.

I'm catching up too
We don't watch TV either anymore - no aerial here so didn't bother getting a licence when we bought this 400 year old house - but recall watching some of the earlier series and do like Kirsty.
Agree that some of that crafty stuff is rather twee, but we do have what I suppose you'd call an 'artistic' home, as DH and I both have design backgrounds (mine in fashion) and we do both create stuff for it.......in my case loads of cushions and curtains while he does woodwork etc. We don't have very much that's new in our home - most is antique, repurposed, handmade or just plain old!
We have about nine different wreaths for the front door - for every season and some, lol, and don't feel remotely guilty - mostly picked up at carboots and eBay (last one cost £1- it's extremely unusual and I've never seen another one like it) and have never seen anything similar to ours in the likes of B&M, although we do shop there for some food items (just not their home decorating stuff, most of which looks incredibly naff/ tat) and recently bought a new slow cooker there .......
