It isn't in the slightest bit helpful to you. They can only go on the information they are given. A court would find it entirely acceptable to use the only known address.

Yeah but no-one gets a CCJ from MET...and all hirers with a BPA PCN, have 100% win awaiting them at POPLA.

Update: I started by contacting the restaurant I parked at and asked to speak to the manager. I explained I was part of a group that dined with them on the date in question and had parked there for 2hrs 5mins according to my Google location services. But the car park was very busy and it took at least 5mins to find a space. I said I had proof of having spent money there if required. The manager was very helpful, took my reference number from MET and asked me to call back in 5-7 days when they would be able to confirm that the parking charge was cancelled. So they are going to contact MET and request cancellation for me. They have not required me to give proof of even having eaten there which I think is very good of them. So far so good then.
