MSE News: Outfox the Market hits customers with FOURTH price hike in six months

The intention of my post was to highlight the fact that being an Ofgem accredited comparison site doesn't necessarily make it a good site to use. I would urge anyone using one to double check the details on actual suppliers website.
Which brings me to your next point. I'm assuming you haven't actually looked yourself or you would see that those terms are not only different to the current ones, but some of the details are contradictory. (due to many U-turns I expect).
And for the error itself, yes I did contact them, and they replied to say
No surprise they're wrong really.:rotfl:As Ofgem-accredited comparison sites, you can trust that the options and prices you find on them are calculated and displayed in a fair and accurate way. These independent websites operate in accordance with our code of practice, the 'Confidence Code'.
Please read the above link for complete information. It even includes how to escalate your complaint about a comparison site, if you still feels there are grounds for such a complaint0 -
Can anyone tell me when the new Outfox tariff rates will be updated in the MSE Energy Club? At present I'm being told Outfox is still the best bet - but this is on the old rates.
thanks!0 -

thanks!
When MoneySuperMarket get around to updating them.
MSE CEC gets all it's tariff data from the MSM comparison site
The old rates still apply until Jan 10 -

Many thanks for the links. Unfortunately they're all a complete mess when it comes to this supplier.
Firstly, my bill says "Zapp!" on the top. I have no idea whether this is Zapp! low user February or Zapp! high user December.
I can't find a single one.
What would be useful is if any of these comparison sites allow me to put in my ACTUAL cost....
Electricity £0.1339/kWh
Gas £0.0419/kWh
plus a 28p per day EACH standing charge. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

Pick the one you think is correct, and then double check the details of the tariff selected align with tariff you currently pay.
The reason comparison sites do not allow you to input the details of the tariff you suggest, is that not all tariffs are made up of just those elements.
It actually only matters as to what your current tariff is to establish the savings/oncost of switching; you still are provided with a list of all generally available tariffs in cost order.
There's certainly a cheaper option for gas available, than paying £0.0419/kWh and 28p/day.0 -
I've had the e-mail of price rises, from Dec 13th, and then another from Jan 1st, that includes the new standing charge.
Reading them seems to imply that the Dec 13th increase has been cancelled, although it doesn't clearly state that?
Is there an increase to the variable rate from Dec 13th?
Many thanks in advance, Sid.0 -

According to the MSE article linked to in post#1 - yes
What does the email actually say that implies to you that the Dec 13th increase has been cancelled???0 -
Extract from e-mail from Outfox:
''From 1st January 2019 your electricity unit rate will change from £0.1144/kWh to £0.1339/kWh.
Your gas unit rate will change from £0.0361/kWh to £0.0419/kWh
Your monthly membership fee will be replaced by a daily standing charge of 28p per fuel. ''
The Rates of £0.1144 and £0.361 are the same level as was charged on my last bill, issued 29th Nov.0 -

That's presumably because at the time the email was drafted/sent on 29th Nov advising of the impending price rise w.e.f. 1st Jan, the price rise effective 13th Dec had not yet come in0
